Week 7: Helmets.
Before I go into detail, this is just my opinion, and DO NOT tell me the "your gonna die" blah blah blah stuff. I don't wear them. Is it safe? No. Is it my life? Yes. I think they are amazing, and have saved MANY people from concussions and further injuries. I don't ride in one (except for 4H shows.) I love the fact that they (and a harness) are required in all AQHA english riding events and all 4H riding events. I am not going to be the annoying person on the Internet to tell you "Wearing a helmet when you ride is wrong!" Or vise versa. I encourage it for classes like jumping and classes that have a higher risk. And I think barrel racers should, regardless of the Association. If you are under X age, you MUST. If you are above X age, it is a choice.
I will NOT judge you if you do, or do not, and I ask you to do the same... And not just to me. To anyone. It's their life, let them ride however they want to ride. What else is there to say??
