the morning was a perfect mix of dewy and fresh. jungkook had been awake for an hour already while ahyeong slept in. jungkook sat on his chair, looking at her from time to time. he wondered why she was sleeping in and not waking up for school. he was getting tired of waking her up like he was her parent.

"hey, wake up," he grumbled, poking at her shoulder. ahyeong groaned, turning away from him. jungkook rolled his eyes, walking over to the window and removing the blinds. the sunlight looked ahyeong in the face, shining brightly. she turned away again and covered her head with the blanket.

"i'm leaving. bye." he said, grabbing his bag and car keys.

"mommy has to go pick auntie ahyeong up, choonhee," chohee said, taking her out of her carseat. choonhee whined and kicked, "i don't want you to go!" she squealed. chohee placed her daughter on the ground, "hey, you need to be a good girl or else i will tell auntie ahyeong to not buy you snacks." choonhee stopped whining.

choonhee pinched her thumb and pointer finger together and swiped it across her closed lips, then flicked her hand over chohee's head. chohee laughed, giving her daughter a tight hug, "okay, daddy is waiting for you. i will be back soon." choonhee ran past her mother and into her fathers arms.

chohee got back in her car and saw the time. she was late to pick up ahyeong, and about to be late for school.

💜

by the time they arrived to school, the second bell had rung. chohee ran up the stairs to the second floor and ahyeong was rushing past the cafeteria. as she walked past, she noticed jungkook was at the other side of the door. the smile he had and the way his eyes glittered at the girl who talked and laughed with him made ahyeong gag.

there is literally every other boy and you talk to that jerk?  ahyeong thought to herself.

she continued on walking, trying to balance the books in her hands and trying to wrap her ear phones neatly to put them in her bag. with no attention to how she was walking and where she was walking, she bumped into taehyung.

"i'm sorry! i wasn't looking," she mumbled. she bowed repeatedly to the male. taehyung chuckled, "just be more cautious next time," and proceeded to walk away, leaving ahyeong alone to pick her textbooks up herself.

he stopped himself, and inhaled sharply. he thought back and forth quickly, deciding on what he should do. he closed his eyes and clenched his fists, then turned around, walking towards ahyeong's crouched figure on the floor.

taehyung kneeled down and helped her pick up a textbook and placed it on top of her other two books. ahyeong thanked him and began to walk away. her footsteps echoed in the empty hallway.

"wait," taehyung called, holding his hand out as if he was grabbing something. ahyeong stopped and turned around, "yes?"

nervously, taehyung let out a small chuckle. his stomach twisted up, his throat went dry, and his palms got sweaty. ahyeong furrowed her brows and her nose scrunching slightly.

"um...never mind," taehyung said, turning away quickly to avoid the judging gaze ahyeong threw at him.

"hey, what's taking you so long? c'mon," jungkook said, walking towards taehyung with the girl he was with in the cafeteria. ahyeong quickly turned away and walked quickly to her class. jungkook took a peek at her and scoffed, "look at her run," he cupped his hands around his mouth, "run, ahyeong, run!" he called out.
