Contagion

Chapter 1: Rude Awakening

A loud bang. Gunshots. People screaming for their lives. And something much worse. Cannibals...

It was an ordinary day at school for Matthew Taylor, but heading towards last hour, it was all about to change. Matthew is a fifteen year old that lives in Loveland, Colorado. His mother died at birth and his father is a hunter, who taught Matthew everything there is about hunting with a bow and using knives. Matthew was heading into his last hour, when he heard loud bangs outside of his school, and then he heard gun shots. His whole school went into lockdown shortly after.

About twenty minutes after the lockdown started, it became very silent. So silent that is was creepy. All of a sudden, a very pale person slammed right through the window and glass shattered everywhere. People were staring at the person's body, and then it twitched, which scared some people. The person got up, with his lifeless eyes, and lunged at one of the students. It grabbed the student and starting biting him, tearing his neck open. Everyone started screaming. Matthew ran out of the classroom to the office to call his dad. When he got to the office, he found another lifeless eyed cannibal waiting there. As soon as Matthew saw it, he ran, but it chased after him. Matthew ran into the staff closet and slammed the door shut. He could hear someone slamming on the door. Matthew didn't know what to do, so he grabbed a broom. The door broke down and the cannibal ran towards Matthew. Matthew held out the broom as it ran towards him. The cannibal was running so fast, that it impaled itself on the broom, and attempted to keep running towards Matthew. Matthew picked up a bucket, and swung at the cannibal's head. It fell hard on the floor and Matthew ran. Matthew ran back to the office to call his dad, but when he dialed in the number, all the phone did was buzz. The lines were down...

Matthew was lost, he didn't know what to do. He decided to go outside and find someone who could help him. He saw tons of cars fleeing, but none of them would stop for him. He then noticed something unimaginable. Tons of those lifeless eyed cannibals, running after people, tackling them to the ground, tearing them apart, eating their necks, and then shortly after, those people that were tackled and eaten, came back as one of the cannibals. Matthew turned around and ran inside. He saw his friend at the other end of the school. Henry. He ran towards Henry and asked him, "Are you okay? Do you know what's going on?"
"I'm fine! And how the hell am I supposed to know what's going on? All I see is people becoming cannibals and eating other people!" Henry's mother pulled up in a car. She told Henry and Matthew to get in the car, which they did. And then she sped off to Henry's father's workplace.

As they were driving, they saw many of those cannibals. They were chasing after the car, which made Henry and Matthew freak out. Henry's mom decided to drive faster to get away from those things, which Matt and Henry decided to call the Cannibals. Henry's mom was driving extremely fast, and she was freaking out about the Cannibals chasing her car. She wasn't paying attention to the road, until she saw a person crossing the road, she tried swerving around the person but it was too late, she hit them with the side of the car, and the car rolled, and went flying into the ditch.
