Chapter 13: Sunset

"There's something you need to know. It's about Aew------ about his accident 4 years ago, I overheard from the doctor that memory loss was not it all. Let's meet tomorrow. I'll tell you the details in person.

CHAPTER13: Sunset

Bas's POV

I need to make excuses for Teh to come with me tomorrow, because if I won't use Aew's name, it'll be hard to get a hold for Teh. It was our decision with my friends to confront Teh one last time. He's been living the past for too long.

My friends and I think that it is time for Teh to let go of the past. 

After the incident we had 4 years ago, we lost Aew. It was a shock for Teh that he started to create a delusion of everything---where he exists.  It's weird and creepy whenever we see Teh talk to thin air. Sometimes, he even claims Sun as his son wherein fact, Tan and In has been quite for long---letting Teh do things like that to them hoping for him to recover.

 One time, he barged into Tan and In's family talking about Sun. Because of the possible traumas for Sun, Tan decided to take Sun to the other country as a protection from Teh's craziness.

It's always been hard to let Teh be like this. Seeing him suffer from severe loneliness. If only Aew was not found dead that day----things might be different. 

Today together with all of our  friends, we need to talk to Teh and make him understand that it's been really long happened and he also needs to set Aew's soul free. Moments after, everyone was present at our meeting place as we gathered waiting for Teh to arrive.

A man was lingering around the place looking for someone---it was finally Teh who arrived a little late. 

"Hey Bas? Why is everyone here? Where's Aew?" Teh asked.

I walked near to hold Teh's hand. " Teh, you need to let go of the past. Aew died 4 years ago."

"What are you talking about? I just went out with him yesterday." He smilingly replied. 

Everyone of our friends made a worried response with their faces. 

"Aew is dead, you need to accept tha------"

"Stop Bas. I'll call him right now, just you wait." 

Teh pulled his phone out, trying to call Aew. 

"Maybe he's busy. Aew is not answering his phone."

I grabbed his phone to check it but I only see conversations with Aew's cellphone number. I checked his messages and I saw Aew's name. It was a plain whole conversation from Teh and his self--he was talking to his self the whole time thinking that Aew is replying him--- It's a monologue .

It made my heart heavy seeing to how Teh became. Philip walked gently as he hugged Teh while crying. 

"Why are you crying Philip? I don't understand." Teh replied with Philip's sudden move.

"You need to heal yourself Teh, Aew is gone. He's dead long ago. He doesn't want to see you like this so please." Philip told Teh as he hugged him tighter. 

Tears began to come out from Teh's eyes. With what's happening, he lost the strength in his legs as he kneeled out of realization. This new year's eve, it ended like that.

I woke up a bit late but it was 5pm already-- I stayed up all night and dawn because of what just happened that's why. I took my phone out and as usual, I scrolled in my instagram feed. Teh was on live. I clicked to watch his live video. He's showing around with his front camera and it seems like he is at a sea shore. 

Upon seeing his live video, I was worried that I instantly opened the chat box to talk about it with Philip and the others. 

*group chat*

Bas: Guys you need to check out Teh's live.

Philip: Isn't that where Aew was found?

Tan: Guys go and go to him as soon as possible.  I don't feel okay to what's he's gonna do next.

Philip: Okay stop worrying Tan, everything will be fine.

Philip: I'll wait you in front  of your house. I'll be fast. I'll just take my car so that we can go together.

Bas: Okay. Just be fast and drive safely, we can't let Teh be alone there. 

I looked back at Teh's live and he was  dancing with the sunset.  He's dancing without music.

Minutes later, Philip arrived at my house and now we are on our way to go to Teh. Judging to what we saw in Teh's live, he's at the cape near the sea. Philip exchanged thoughts with me inside the car like to why does it needs to end like this, Teh getting crazy and unreasonable. I was a part to blame to what happened to Aew. If only not for what we did with Teh---leaving Aew caught us, it was wrong enough.

The live was still running and it will still take 10 minutes before we arrive to his place. Teh suddenly stopped dancing and stood still in front of the camera. 

He fell into the sand---looking over the sky.

It was a sunset.
