The Succubi Sisters

Chapter 7

Kamryns Pov

Waking up to the sound of my alarm on my phone I roll over to look at the screen seeing it's two hours earlier than my normal time. I turn it off and decide to go ahead and get up. Looking around I see Karina and Katirah both still sleeping in their beds. I stand up grabbing my bag and I head to the bathroom to get ready. Getting in the shower I stand under the hot water letting my muscles relax sleeping on a couch isn't always the best. After that I go on with my routine of washing my face, hair, and body once done I get out and put my hair up in a towel and wrap one around my body. Standing in front of the mirror I pull my makeup out of my bag and go to work putting on some eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss. Once done I let my hair down and blow dry it. Pulling out my favorite ripped denim jeans, a black tank top and my light grey off the shoulder crop top that says vintage I get dressed. Looking at my phone I still have a lot of time left. I pull out my curling iron and start curling my hair. Once done I look at myself and nod my head and head out the bathroom seeing that Karina was awake and sitting at the small table with two cups of what i'm guessing is coffee. Grabbing my socks and combat boots I walk over to her and sit down putting them on and then looking at her.

"You shouldn't go to school today Kam." She looks at me with her motherly face filled with concern and worry. Her eyes look tired and her hair wild from a bad night of sleep.

I shake my head "I cant Sis, you and Katrina work so hard for my tuition and yes I have A's and B's but you also know if I miss one day they could easily drop." Looking over at Katrina I sigh still looking at my other sleeping sister. I say "I can't let them scare me away from my education especially since you two work so hard for me." Looking back over to Karina I speak again. "I can't run away especially since we don't even know what it is that's going on or who those people are that did this to her. I can go to school and see if anyone is actually following us. If they are, I will come back but I also need to go to see if people are. If so then I will go to my Counselor Michale and see if I can do what I can online and when it calms down I'll come back and do the rest of the in class stuff. I literally have a year and a half left then I'll have my degree. I will not stop now since I'm so close." She looks at me with a small smile and nods. "Well since you are so keen maybe you can find a way to get this book translated for me." She gets up and pulls a bag out from under her bed and brings it over. Sitting down she opens the bag and pulls out a book and sits it in front of me.

The book looks hand-made with black leather with gold designs on it, the main one being a tree in the center of the book with other designs around the edges. Picking it up you can tell it has a feel all of its own, turning it to the side I see the word "Grimoire" on the side of it.

Sitting there I look at the book and am mesmerized by the gold designs. Shaking my head I look back at my sister confused. "Where did you find this?" I ask as I open it and look through its pages.

"I found it in the attic and as odd as it sounds it just called to me. Maybe it was just my intrigue because of the look of it but I felt drawn to it." Shrugging she looks at me.

Nodding my head I looked at the words seeing that they are in a different language "Maybe I can find a book with a way for us to translate this it looks like Latin, I can read some of these words but I can't be sure, my Latin is pretty rusty." Looking through it some more words pop out at me but none of them makes sense in any way to me. Shrugging I get up from the table I grab my school bag and bring it over and put the mystery book in it. Looking at my phone I have 45minutes before my first class and then to Karina. "Do you wanna take me or should I call one of the dweebs?" I ask, smiling and sitting down to drink my coffee.

She smiles and pulls out the keys to her vehicle to give to me. "Swear to me as soon as anything feels weird you come straight back here." She gives me her sternest look and I nod my head grabbing the keys. "Yes ma'am" I say while giving her a mocking salute. Smiling, I finish my coffee and grab my stuff. Before heading to the door I give her a hug then walk over to Katirah and kiss her forehead and head out the door.

Twenty minutes later I am parked in the campus parking lot grabbing my bag and heading to the door where Courtney, Stephen, and Blair are standing waiting for me. Walking up they all smile and look at me. "Hey baby bop?" Stephen says and kisses the top of my head, Courtney smiles at me and says "Morning boo", Blair smiles as well and says "Morning red". Smiling back I give the girls a hug and say morning my darlings and we head to class. Going about our usual routine I kept watch to see if there were any unfamiliar faces or anyone watching me. After every class I send a text to Karina saying it's okay so far clear and on lunch I check in to see how her and Katirah are doing. Finishing my classes I tell the others I'm going to the library and Blair comes with.

"So why are you going to the library after class Red?" Blair asks as we sit at our usual back table.

Unsure how to answer I decided to tell a somewhat truthful answer. "Well my sister found a book and I'm trying to translate it." I say to her as I go to the section of books that are for those who want to self teach a new language. Grabbing the book that says Latin i head back and Blair is sitting there looking unsure.

Sitting down I look at her "What's wrong?" I say as I pull out the mystery book and open both the books up.

"Well... I can help but.. I'll need my grandmother, she knows more than me." She looks at me with a small smile.

"Let me message my sister and see what she would think would be best how to do this." I say and pull out my phone and text her.

< Hey Karina I have something way better to translate the book. Well not something more like someone. Blair and her grandmother can read Latin! How do you want to do this?

< Really? Umm... I don't know I don't want us to go into town just in case. Could they come here?

< Let me ask hold on she might have to call her grandmother.

< Okay let me know.

Looking up to Blair I go to ask but then I see she's already on the phone.

"Hey grandma my friend Kamryn, the one you met the other day that has a book that needs translation. It's in Latin so I was wondering if you could help?"  After a pause she smiles "Yes I know how but I also know I lack some words and knowledge to translate." She waits for a response and nods. "Okay grandma if there is anything I can't translate I'll write it down and bring it home for you to help me." She waits again and smiles "Do you need me to come home before going to her place?" She waits and nods "I know but you also know I worry about you but okay I'll be home late though so call me if you need anything." She waits again smiling and nodding. "Okay grandma i'll see you tonight. I love you too." Shortly after she hangs up and looks at me smiling. "You have me tonight and whatever I can't translate I'll write down and take home to her and bring you the rest tomorrow."

Texting Karina i say < Blair is able to come tonight i'll explain the rest when we get there.

Shortly after I receive a text < Okay see you when you get here.

Looking up I nod and  smile "Thank you! We are all set then." I say and put the book back in my bag and throw it over my shoulder and pick up the other book and head back to the shelf. Putting it up I look around and see a man duck behind the shelf. Shrugging it off I walk to Blair and we head out of the library and to our cars.

"You will have to follow me if we are not going to my house. We are staying at a hotel a little bit out of town." Looking at her as I step to my car she looks at me confused but nods and gets into her car.

Heading to the hotel I keep watch of any other vehicles following us seeing no other vehicles. I relax and focus on the road.

Pulling into the parking lot I hop out grabbing my bag and watch as Blair pulls in next to me. As she gets out her car I lock up ours and head to the room with Blair following behind me. Getting to the room I use the key and walk in. Seeing Katirah still asleep in her bed and Kamryn on the couch dressed from her night wear to some comfortable sweatpants and t-shirt.

"Hello Blair so good to see you again. Thank you so much for helping with this." She stands and smiles at Blair.

Waving her hand "It's no problem. I learned Latin from my grandmother and I enjoy it so I don't mind helping." She says while smiling.
