The following day Kevin's family arrives at our house. It was his parents Elliot and Valerie, and his sister Veronica

"It's so good to see the two of you" Veronica cheerfully stated

"Same, I missed you Vee" I hugged her

His sister and I were very close...well as close as sister in laws should be. She's much more supportive of my marriage to Kevin than their mother, their father was just happy he's married

"I missed to too Whit" Veronica smiled

I glanced at his mom and she was already giving me the side eye

"Whitney, how are you?" She carelessly asked

"Umm I'm fine Mrs. Costner"

Elliot hugged me to ease off the hostility. He's a gentle soul

"You two really made this place your own. It's beautiful" Elliot looked around "living in style"

"With no children" Valerie stuck up her nose in a disrespectful manner

Little does she know it's her son who doesn't want kids, I've been trying to have a baby with him

"Mom please cut it out" Kevin signed in frustration

"What? I want grandchildren"

"And I want children too, tell your son to cut down on work then maybe you'll have your grandchildren" I rolled my eyes

Kevin looked at me hostilely. I know he didn't like my response but his mom is not gonna disrespect me in my house. I'll be damned if I let her

Veronica chuckled "okay anyway, so as you guys know my birthday is in a week. I just wanted to know if you two were going to show up"

"Ugh you know Whitney and I work Vee" Kevin wrapped his arm around my neck

"Missing your sisters birthday? Kevin take a day off" Elliot sits on the couch

"Well I'll take a day off to attend, I hope your brother will do the same Vee" I rolled my eyes at Kevin

It's always work with him. Work work work, what's at that office?

"I'll take off work" he puts a smirk on his face

*that evening*

Kevin went to work and his family leaves our home and makes their way home. It's around 8:56pm so I decided to take my nightly shower. After my shower my phone begins digging

It was a few messages from Michael

Michael J:

"Hey beautiful, i know you miss me"

I replied "don't be so cocky 😂"

"Listen I'm alone tonight, come sit on my face 😌"

"I'm married remember? And besides I told you we weren't doing that again"

After about 10 minutes of him not replying back I received a call from him. I was hesitant to answer but eventually did

"Yes Michael?"

"Why you playing with me girl?" He flirtatiously chuckles

"I'm not playing"

I was smiling hard through the phone. His voice just gave me butterflies
