Gianna adjusted her purple camp t-shirt and the lanyard around her neck. She turned the plastic ID card in her hands a couple of times before she got out of her car. She took her luggage out of the back and promptly looked around for the other counsellors.

Her friend Enola - she had met her the previous year - ran towards her enthusiastically. Gianna laughed and picked her up in a spinny hug.

"Hey! How are you?", Enola greeted.

"I'm so happy to be back.", Gianna responded happily. She held her left hand up to block the sun, which had been shining brightly into her eyes.

"The weather's amazing, I'm going to get my sunglasses real quick. Can you hold my bag pack?", she asked and handed her the bag pack to take her favourite pair of sunglasses out.

"These are wicked", Enola complimented when her friend placed the green, star-shaped frames on her face.

"Thank you.", she grinningly replied.

Gianna loved being a counsellor. Working with kids was a lot of fun, especially in a setting like this, where you would basically get paid for joking around all day every day. And on top of that, the team was always great. It was a good opportunity to meet new people from across the country, and most of the time they ended up being the most fun and charismatic people she had ever met in her life. She had to admit that maybe she had formed a tiny crush on one of the counsellors last year. Because in the end, who could deny a boy who just happened to look extremely attractive while being good with kids at the same time. Of course, after that week at camp last year, she hadn't seen the guy again. But that's okay.

They made their way up to the tents everyone would be staying in. In front of one, 14 year olds were already lounging on the benches while blasting rap music.

By the entrance of the main counsellors' tent though, sat a green haired guy, wearing a purple t-shirt and a lanyard like the two girls'. His feet were propped up on the small table in front him, his smile was flashy and bright.

"Oh hey Gianna! It's so good to see you again!" he exclaimed enthusiastically and he quickly stood up to envelop her in a hug.

She accepted gladly, and his oh-so-familiar smell filled her nostrils. It was the same charismatic, funny but yet unpredictable guy she had known last year.

"Oh my God Awsten! I didn't know you'd be here", she said as she squeezed him tightly.

"Yes, it was kind of a last minute situation. I was supposed to be in a different camp, but they desperately needed one more male counsellor here.", he explained and let her go.

"This is going to be great. I've missed you. And, God, your hair... it's amazing.", Gianna admitted and sent an adoring grin his way.

"Thank you, I got tired of the purple, so now I'm a walking highlighter", he said proudly, "I'm so glad to be here. To be honest, the other camp would've been kind of shit. But don't tell anyone I said that."

"I was hoping you'd say that. Also, could you please check which tent I'm staying in?", she asked.

However, before Awsten could turn around and check the list, Enola chimed in:"Oh! You're staying in a tent with me and another girl, Rosie. It's #3."

"Well then ... Do you need anyone to help you with your bag?", Awsten asked, "And cool glasses by the way."

"Thanks so much, i got them at the dollar store", Gianna laughed, "and thanks for offering help but I'm good."
