Chapter 5/ A Test?

Giyuu POV

Hmm? Oh I fell asleep. I wonder what time it is? Where's Sabi-. Tshaha. It's like we were younger. Whenever I was sick he'd always do the same thing, staying in my bed with me having me use his lap as a pillow as he'd be there the entire time taking care of me. I'm so glad he's back. I don't care about anything else right now. I just want to stay here with him. Back to sleep I go.

Sabito's POV

*yawn* What time is it? 17:00... damn we've been asleep 5 hours. That's fine. Ah that reminds me I should probably change into different clothing and so should Giyuu. Giyuu also needs to eat something and then take some medicine. I feel bad leaving him by himself but I need to change. Just need to gently take his head off my lap and move off the bed. Thank god I got up without waking him.

*Sabito finds some clothes that fit him, washed up and changed. That took him about 15 minutes total.*

It was nice to wash up. What should we have to eat? I mean I'm not really hungry and giyuu never has much of an appetite.. Ah that nice girl, Mitsuri had brought some onigiri. We can have that. I mean Giyuu just needs to eat something so he doesn't take medicine on an empty stomach. I should probably go prepare that too. As I'm preparing the medicine, Giyuu walks into the kitchen.

"Sabito?" He looks really miserable.

"Yeah?" I walk over and give him a kiss on his forehead to cheer him up a little. He smiles a little.

"It's nothing" He yawns and sits down at the table.

"I know you're not hungry but you need to eat so just have at least one of the onigiri that Mitsuri brought you."

"Mhm" he reached out and took one and started eating slowly. I finish up preparing the medicine and put it on the table.

I sit down and grab an onigiri as well. I study Giyuu as I eat, he looks at me.

"What's up?" he asks me curious

"Nothing much, just looking at how tired you are.' I give him a smile

"Glad you noticed' He says, yawning again. We both finish up eating in silence. He drinks the medicine and makes a face afterwards.

"Awh you're still such a kid." Gotta love teasing him

"Hush, you don't know how bitter Shinobu's medicines are. If only she wasn't the only medicine person." he honestly looks disappointed with that.

"Anyway you should go wash up." I state. "I washed up earlier so you should go now."

"Fine, I'll just go grab some clothes to change into." Giyuu gets up and goes to grab some clothes. He comes back and starts to head to the washroom but before he does he doubles back to give me a hug and kiss on the cheek. He heads back again but not before giving me the purest, cutest smile ever. I'm sure I was glowing with happiness when he looked back at me.

I cleaned up after the both of us and decided to make some tea. By the time he came back I had finished making the tea and was sitting in his living room waiting for him. He came back wearing just a casual kimono, and sat down next to me. I handed him his tea and he moved in closer to me. We sat there for a bit just enjoying each other's warmth. Our time of quiet gets interrupted by a knock on the door. I get up and put my tea down.

"I'll go get it." I start walking to the door and turn around real quick

"And no you can't pretend to be sleeping." Yuu looks disappointed but I don't care, just cause he doesn't feel like talking doesn't mean he can avoid people.

I open the door there's two people standing there. I saw them both on the first day I got here. They must be pillars. One is a guy with white hair covered in scars, the second is a... I honestly have no idea they have black and blue hair and very cold emotionless blue eyes.

"Your Sabito, correct?" their voice is as emotionless as their eyes.

"Yeah and you guys are?" Honestly who are they?

"I'm Muchiro Tokito and he's Sanemi Shinazugawa."

"Nice to meet you, do you want to come in?" Why are they here? Sanemi looks very unhappy to be here.

"Okay" Muchiro walks in, dragging Sanemi behind him. I lead them to the kitchen and gesture for them to take a seat, both do. Giyuu is keeping to himself on the couch quiet and seems like he's trying to make himself invisible.

"So why'd you two come here?" very valid question i have

"Mitsuri apparently explained something to Oyakata-sama. We don't know what completely but Sanemi is apparently supposed to evaluate your skills and place you in the ranking so you don't have to start out as a mizunoto." Muchiro calmly explained to me. That's surprising. Okay, sounds fun.

"Okay." Simple easy response. I really don't need to say much to them.

"Only thing is you need a sword and apparently you don't have one right now?" Sanemi grumbled. He seems like an asshole.

"Right, I'll have to get one made. I'll do that after this little test but for now..." I look back at Giyuu, we make eye contact and he understands. He sighs then tosses me his sword.

"Thank you"

"Mhm" of course he must really dislike one of them. Both of them look really surprised. I guess Giyuu really didn't try with any of them besides Mitsuri who he only tries a little with.

"Okay let's go" the three of us get up and start heading to the door, I stop and look back at Giyuu, they stop too and observe.

"You gonna come watch Yuu?"

"No. I'll stay here and take another nap. Don't go easy on him, you're both on about the same level." He yawns and gives me a small smile. I give him a smile back.

"Okay, don't tire yourself out." He gives me a small laugh, and I give him a little wave and start heading back towards the door. The three of us walk out and head over to something of a training ground. Sanemi and I spar for about an hour. The whole time none of us said anything. Sanemi and I had about 12 battles. Giyuu was right, we really were on equal grounds. We both won an equal amount too.

"Fuck your really good..." Sanemi said, really surprised. I give him a small smile.

"It was just that Giyuu was right, we really are on equal grounds."

"You mentioning Tomioka, I honestly think that's the first time I've seen him express emotion." Sanemi stated

"I agree. That was also the most I've heard him speak when it wasn't completely necessary." Muchiro added.

"He's just really introverted, he was never too good with people and everything scared him, he also just can't seem to believe in himself..." I mean all of that is true. He can't swim but was too scared to learn, when we were younger he was terrified of a dog. It was really stupid how scared of everything he was but kinda cute as well. He always thought he was better off dead until I hit him for it.

"Anyways I should head out and get my sword made, see ya." I left them there surprised with what I told them. I hurry up to pick my ore for my sword and send it off to get made, then head back to Giyuu. It's about 20:00 at this point. It's late enough to retire for the night. I walk into the house seeing Giyuu had actually fallen asleep in the living room. *sigh* I pick him up and carry him to his room. I sit down in his bed and put his head on my lap to use as a pillow as I doze off in my comfortable sitting/leaning against the wall position.
