It was the middle of November, and Luna was still cooped up in her room. They boys had given up hope on her ever getting better, even Race. They never saw Spot anymore, and Race was about to put a stop to it. After slaving out in the cold, Race sold the last of his papers, and hitched a trolley to Brooklyn. The trolley workers knew him well enough that he didn't have to pay. Race made his way to Spot's perch glaring at anybody who dared to stop him. He saw Spot up on his perch, a cold expression on his face. "Spot!" Race yelled. "What do you want Higgins?" Spot asked annoyed. "Why haven't you come to see my sister?" Race asked angry. "What's there to see. She's never going to come out." Spot spat.
"You don't think I know that? I've been there for her everyday and every night, while your here what? Sitting on your lazy ass, doing nothing? You're unbelievable." Race said, his temper about to break through. "Do you even care that she wakes up screaming every night? Every time I try to get her to calm down she ask's for you. It breaks my heart telling her that your not there. She needs you, you need her. I get that you two are going through a hard time, but they only way to make it better is to be there for each other. I don't care if it take years for you two to get over it, but please. I can't loose her again." Race yelled, his voice whispering at the end. Spot looked at him for a minute, then nodded. "Trick-Shot, watch Brooklyn. I'se gonna be a while." he said before following Race back to Manhattan.
Jane watched from the shadows as her brother walked back to Manhattan. Being twins they could feel each other's emotions. Something that broke from Spot when Jane went missing. "You can't do this forever, you know that right?" a voice said from behind her. "And what to you suggest I do?" jane asked. "Go to him. He needs you just as much as you need him." the voice said. "He won't remember me." Jane said.
"It's been too long Demetri, he won't remember." Jane said. "You know that's not true. He does remember you, Austin should know." Demetri said. Jane turned around. "You really think he'll remember me?" Jane asked. Demetri nodded.
As Race and Spot got closer to the Manhattan Lodging house, they felt like they were being followed. They turned around and saw nothing, but when they turned around, standing in front of them were twelve people, with blood red eyes.
Spot and Race were frozen in place. They looked like what Luna decribed as Jared Summers. "We don't mean you any harm. We just want to talk." the leader said. Spot wasn't paying attention, instead he had his eyes on the young 15 year old girl.
He racked his brain, and his face grew pale. "Jane?" he asked, barely above a whisper. Everybody snapped their heads towards the teenager. Jane looked behind her at Demetri. He nodded and motioned for her to say yes. "Sean." she said. "How? You died with mom and pop." he said. "Long story." Jane said before hugging her brother.
