c10:THE PROMISES AT 16

CAMILA'S POV

I woke up to a hushed voice talking to someone

I squinted my eyes and look at the digital clock near Lauren's bed and see that it was only 3 in the morning

I stretch my arms on the bed and felt a warm space

I panic for a moment forgetting that I was at Lauren's
But then frown when she's not by my side

I look around and see a silhouette by the window leaning  its head on the window with the back facing me

"Baby, shh I'm so sorry I'm not visiting, but I promise to visit though for maybe New Year or Valentines' day? is that ok? I am so sorry I didn't get to spend many holidays with you, Eox, and Abuelita"I heard Lauren said in a very soft voice

I frown at the thought that she's talking to someone and who is Eox? Does Lauren get someone pregnant?

I tense at that and close my eyes to calm myself down

"Don't come to stupid conclusions, Camila. You need to talk about this to Lauren first before you go ape shit on her" I thought to myself

"Mhmm, ok bye. Love you too, sleep tight go cuddle Eox" I can sense a smile in her voice saying those words

I heard a long sigh and footsteps before I felt the bed dip and someone wraps their arms around me kissing my cheeks

A minute later I heard her snore beside me
I open my eyes and look at her sleeping face before caressing it

Pecking her lips and close my eyes before falling asleep with the conversation Lauren just had on a phone call on my mind

NIKI'S POV

I arrive at school 45 minutes to spare like usual, and make my way to my locker and get my books for the first 3 periods before heading straight to the cafeteria to wait for my friends

When I arrive at the cafeteria I smile at the lunch lady that's displaying various kinds of foods for breakfast and for snacks

I also saw the janitor that's about to finish moping the floors and said my good morning as a routine every time I see him in the cafeteria

I sat down on our squad's usual table and open my bag to fish out my  assignment I didn't get to finish when Jungwon barged into my room throwing me clothes to wear and dragging me to a club

I was finishing my essay for the last question at my history when I smell a familiar perfume invading my surroundings

I look up and saw who it was making me smile

"Good Morning," I said happily

"Ugh, there's no good in the morning! And please lower your voice. I feel like my head is splitting if any of you yell one more time"

I laugh and open my bag and taking out a bottle full of advils and reach for the paper bag beside me getting a can of pineapple juice and give it to my suffering best friend

"Yesha, you won't be having this kind of problem if you just didn't go wild last night at the club. You know it's a school night and you party super hard like there's no tomorrow" I said shaking my head before removing her big ass sunglasses

"Arghh, shh don't lecture me yet. It's still super early for this" Alessia said as she leans her head on my shoulder after she pops 2 advils onto her mouth and drank the juice

"Ok fine, but did you even finish the assignments due today?" I asked raising my eyebrows not looking at her as I continue to answer the last question for the unfinished assignment
