After rolling to see who went first, Rohan flicked the dice across the table.
"Ow!" Yelped Mikitaka, already making you feel guilty for allowing him to be in this situation.
Josuke quickly tried to cover it up, "O-Ow! I accidentally hit the table."
"Hurry up and bet then roll the dice." Ordered Rohan, already annoyed with the Higashikata.
"R-Right..." He grabbed two chips from his stack, "I'll bet two thousand yen."
"Alright. Here you go." Rohan copied.
"I'll go light on my first roll to test the waters." After chanting about what roll he didn't want the alien to give him, the dice were tossed into the bowl. "How's that?" Three sixes. "A-An Omen..."
You hid your laughter with a cough while turning another page. Of course the alien wouldn't know how suspicious it made the Higashikata look, "Wow... you must be really lucky Josuke."
"S-Stupid! You're not supposed to start off with that!" Whisper shouted Josuke. Noticing the look Rohan gave him he quickly changed his story, "Er, I mean... Yeah, that was some crazy stupid luck! It's almost like I'm cheating!"
Rohan narrowed his eyes and pushed forward ten tokens, "It seems you've already earned quite a bit of spending money. And you wouldn't happen to be helping him in some way, right (Y/N)?"
"Nope. No help from me." You kept to your reading as Rohan started his turn, pushing forward ten tokens. You doubted Rohan would be able to figure out just how Josuke was cheating, but he could already tell something us up just based off the Higashikata's strange behavior.
Rohan proceeded to roll a one, two, and a three. The worst thing possible. Josuke lunged his hand forward, hoping to just continue on with the game. The manga artist slammed his hands on the table before standing up, "Don't touch those dice, Josuke Higashikata!" He swiped the bowl off the table and walked inside, "Don't move an inch."
Josuke acted innocent while Rohan came back with a magnifying glass, "Watcha doing?"
"I could be imagining it, but I feel like the dice are staring at me." He tossed it back in the bowl. "Well whatever. Let's continue."
Josuke did his next roll, again betting two chips. He couldn't help but feel terrified of Rohan lashing out when the Alien gave him another group of sixes.
Rohan calmly took a sip out of a small soda can. "I suppose what happens twice is bound to happen a third time." He set the drink aside while chuckling, "I suppose it's possible to roll this more than once. An omen's worth five times the bet, right? I'll pay up." He laughed again, handing over another ten chips, "It just can't be helped."
It was perhaps more unsettling for Rohan to be acting nicer in such a situation. You didn't really feel all that bad for Josuke, though. Whatever came out of this was on him for cheating to get money.
"Right... these things can happen a third time." Josuke just kept going, his whole body coated with a nervous sweat.
Rohan chortled a bit longer before pulling out a pen and stabbing it into his pinky finger. Several chips and the magnifying glass were flung off the table in the process.
"Umm..." You brought hand up to your face, attempting to wipe off a small drop of his blood that had made its way there, "Isn't that a bit much Rohan?"
"Y-Yeah!" Shouted Josuke, "What the hell are you doing?! You're messed up in the head!"
"I'm not sure how, but I know that you're cheating. That's unforgivable! It's unforgivable that I can't figure it out!" He glared across the table at Josuke, "You're infuriating. Up until now, I've held back my anger towards you for (Y/N) and Mr. Joestar's sakes, but you are currently trying to make a fool of me. Just thinking of you laughing deep down inside is unbearable."
