Anyways here's a little gift to start off the new year! Enjoy this chapter! _______________
Ash's POV As me and Goh head in opposite directions I look down by the sandy beaches and see the majestic sunset. The sun slowly withering away as the blue skies turn black. I take out a Pokéball from my belt. "I promise to make this quick. Come on out!"
I throw the Pokéball into the air. It opens up as it starts it fall and what came from within was a friend who's helped me in many battles. The Flame Pokémon, Charizard!
He let out a battle cry and launched a high powered Flamethrower into the air. Charizard noticed to a moment and soon realized there was no battlefield. He turned towards me and I said "Hey Charizard, there's something I really need to do. We don't have much time though."
Pikachu climbed onto my shoulder and we hopped on Charizard's back readying ourselves for a wild flight. "Alright Charizard, I need you to take us to a house nearby the beach. Don't worry you won't miss it," I explained.
The Fire-Flying type Pokémon gave a nod and extended his wings out wide. In the blink of an eye we were sky high. The sunset was crystal clear. The sun slowly dimming out just over the horizon. 'Alola still is beautiful.'
After about 1 minute of flying Charizard slowed, and landed seamlessly. "Thanks Charizard, but be ready because we're gonna have to fly back in just a bit," I told him before returning him to his Pokéball.
I knock softly on the door and after a few seconds I see Burnet opening the door to see me on the other side. "Ash what are you doing here? Weren't you supposed to be heading back to Kanto?" Burnet asked in concern.
"There's something I need to do and don't worry about the plane to Kanto. Even if I miss it I have another way back," I reassured.
"Oh alright you had me worried for a bit. Anyways what was it you said you had to do?" Burnet questioned.
"Before I do it, is Kukui here?" I asked her.
"No, he had to go and do something over on Akala Island. He left a while ago," Burnet answered.
"I guess it doesn't really matter. The gift I have is for Lei," I explained.
"What? You have another gift for him? Ash you don't have to be that kind to him. After all he's just a toddler," Burnet said.
"Actually I was asked to give Lei this," I justified.
"Asked? Asked by who?" Burnet asked.
I opened up my bag and grabbed out the egg inside. "I was given this egg and was asked to give it to Lei from Tapu Koko," I spoke.
Burnet was shocked, "Tapu Koko?! So the Island Guardian really wanted you to give a Pokémon Egg to him?"
"Yeah but I'm not sure what Pokémon is inside or why Tapu Koko wanted me to give it to him but I hope whatever Pokémon hatches from inside Lei will become wonderful friends with it."
"Ash you've already given so much. Thanks," Burnet said softly and tears started welling up in her eyes.
"Alright Burnet I think it's time I go. Use a tissue and don't forget about the rest of my presents for Lei," I spoke.
"Wait Ash! Before you go there something I need to tell you," Burnet quickly said.
I turn around and look back saying "Sure what is it?"
"So why didn't you tell me about this Serena?" Burnet asked with a smirk on her face.
My face lit up and I stuttered "Umm... Ser—Serena. I umm... Who's t—that?"
Burnet laughed "Oh come on, you're a worse liar than Kukui!"
"Kukui told you about her?!" I asked angrily.
"Well I noticed something was off about him and so, I pressured him into telling me," Burnet explained.
"How much did he tell you," I asked worried for how much Burnet knew.
"Silly, he told me everything!" Burnet exclaimed.
I became utterly embarrassed and I didn't know how to respond.
"Okay, but that's not what I have to tell you. I wanted to say that you need to follow what's inside your chest. Not what's in your head.," she told me.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked confused.
Burnet facepalmed and deeply sighed. "Ash you need to do what you feel is right. If you think being with Serena is right than go for it. If not than find out what's right for you alright."
"Yeah, I think I get it," I answer. "I have to get going now! Goodbye Burnet!" I said as I closed the door behind me and let out Charizard and flew towards the airport.
A few minutes later... We landed and I returned Charizard and quickly jumped aboard Toucannon Airlines Flight K Twenty-Three to Vermillion City, Kanto. I look around for my seat and after a bit of searching I see Goh already sitting down by the window. I take a seat right beside him and he yells "Where have you been?! You're so lucky the flight hasn't taken off yet!"
"Don't worry I had it under control. I just had to give one final gift to Lei," I explained to him.
"Hold on! There's no way you ran to Kukui's house and then had enough time to make it back! So how did you do it?!" Goh questioned.
"I flew on my Charizard," I said.
"Oh, well that explains that. Anyways you still have that egg right? Can I see it?" Goh asked.
"I don't have it," I spoke.
"You lost it?!" Goh panicked.
"Sorry, I should've said this earlier. The gift I gave Lei was the Pokémon Egg," I reassured.
"Don't scare me like that!" Goh said, annoyed. "Wait why did you give it to Lei?"
"Tapu Koko told me to," I answered.
"That's not what you told us back at the Pokémon School! You said Tapu Koko didn't say a word!" Goh yelled.
"N-no I wasn't lying. Tapu Koko didn't actually say anything. But it's like I knew what Tapu Koko wanted me to do, and that was given the egg to Lei," I replied.
"Well let's forget all that and sleep after all it's late and our flight will arrive at Kanto in the morning," Goh said.
"Alright, goodnight Goh, and goodnight Pikachu," I whisper as my eyes slowly drift away. _______________
