Abigail's P.O.V

I walked through the busy lobby of JM Industries, trying not to get myself trampled by rapid people going and coming back from their lunch breaks. I pulled out my Iphone from my blazer jacket to check the current time, but my phone was bombarded with numerous of emails regarding work related issues. I was going to turn back to head back to my office to deal with these pressing small issues, when my phone buzzed indicating a new message. I glanced at the unknown number trying to figure out who it could be from but I had this strange feeling that I was being watched. I really hated the feeling when someone stands behind me because it sends a shooting pain down my back. It's like I have a sixth sense about these things and I'm usually right. I took my eyes away from my phone screen to search around the area to see anyone looking at me, but everyone around me was either too caught up with conversations with other people while walking past me, others making a dash outside the building to grab lunch and the others walking quickly to the elevator to make it back to their designated departments. I didn't notice anyone starring at me nor anyone standing behind me. I couldn’t believe I was wrong, I'm usually right about this feeling I get. I shook away the strange feeling and brought my attention back to my Iphone in my hand. I slide open my phone, entered my pass-code to check the unread message. I really love this technology of simple touching the screen. It's so much better than dealing with small ass buttons.

I tapped at my screen to read the unread message and it said, “Please don't turn around to head back up to work. Everything here will be taken care of. Enjoy today & tomorrow off! -JM”.

The nerve of that man messaging me not to go back to work. I can if I want to, but I wouldn't hear the end of it. Plus how the hell did he get my number, we usually correspond through emails. I decided to message him back asking that very same question “Mr. Matthews how did you manage to get my phone number?

I got a quick response saying, “I have my ways ;) Abigail, and I thought I already told you earlier to call me Jarrod.

I would have never guessed that a man with high standards would be texting a winking emoticon. He's always surprising me with something about himself that I didn't know he had in him. I re-read the message again so I could reply back to whatever he said. I kept calling him Mr. Matthews, but that's what I'm use to. Plus I don't feel comfortable as of yet calling him Jarrod, especially to his face. I sill have to respect the employee/boss title. If I got too comfortable saying his name what if I screw up in meetings or in front of the clients. That's very unprofessional. I quickly responded back by saying “How about a compromise by how I call you?

I had to wait a bit for a response. He was probably taking his time messaging me back. My phone buzzed indicating a new message ad it said “Compromise? What's are you proposing and what do I get in return?
