SORRY FOR THE OVERDUE WAIT ON THIS CHAPTER. I HOPE THIS CHAPTER IS GOOD.

Abigail’s P.O.V

I went to my favourite spot around the corner to get the best delicious sandwiches made. I ordered my usual combo of roasted chicken on whole wheat bread. I added my favourite toppings and sauce to make my sandwich so yummy. I also ordered Jarred’s favourite sandwich as well. Working for him about a year now, I knew what he liked and didn’t like to eat for lunch. I paid for our orders and headed back to work. I couldn’t wait to have lunch, I was hungry. Walking towards Jarred’s office, I can see him from a far. He didn’t notice me yet, so I was just watching him from a far. He just got off from his phone call. He looked a little stressed, cause he started to rub his temples. Then he opened up a book to jot something down. “Hmmm…I wonder why he’s so stressed out. I hope it’s nothing too serious” I thought. Finally my arms started to hurt from holding our lunches and drinks. “Crap, I’ve been ogling at my boss that I forgot that I have our lunches in my hand.” I said to myself. I shook my head, to get my thoughts together, put a smile on my face and walked up to Jarred’s office holding up his lunch. When he looked up to look at me, his eyes lit up like he figured out his solution from being so stressed out.

Jarred smiled back at me and said “Thank you for getting me my lunch Ms.Lawson. For my appreciation, please join me for lunch.”

“What?!? He’s asking me to join him for lunch!” I thought to myself. I didn’t know how to reply. Yeah we had lunch sometimes together but only for work related reasons with other co-workers brainstorming. “I’m just by my lonesome self, right?” I thought. I looked around and did notice that I was by myself, just making sure I wasn’t mistaken. I guess I must have taken a really long time to say something because Jarred repeated his question.

“Ms. Lawson, will you join me?” Jarred said.

I looked up at him and his eyes looked so pleading like Oscar’s. How can I resist that look, “Um, sure I don’t mind joining you.” I said to him.

“Great! We can make our way to the couches then.” He said. He turned around and closed the door in but not all the way. He grabbed the drinks from my hand and led me towards the couches, I can feel his free hand on my lower back giving me a warm feeling while guiding me to our sitting area. We both sat on the longer sofa where we had enough room to sit and eat our lunches. I check our bags to see which sandwich belonged to whom. I handed Jarred his lunch.

“Thanks, I’m starving!! I hope you are too.” He said looking at me while taking a bite out of his sandwich.

I smiled at him, “Yes, I am hungry too!!” and I took a bite out of my own sandwich.

“Mmmm…this is so good.” Jarred said; while taking a napkin to wipe his mouth.

“I couldn’t agree more. But when I try to make this at home, it never seems to taste the same.” I said to him.

“Food always tastes different when someone else makes it. That’s what makes it their own.” He said with a smile.

“Yeah, you’re right!” I said while taking a sip out of my soft drink, but never taking my eyes off of Jarred. He looked so stressed before I came in here and now he looks a little bit relaxed but nervous about something. “Should I ask him if everything is okay? I don’t want to him to feel that nosy about his personal business” I thought to myself.

But I guess he beat me to the punch to ask because he just said “Can I get your help with something that’s important?”

“Yeah, sure!!” I said putting my drink down to face him, so I can give him my attention.
