BEEP BEEP BEEP

Sofia groaned as she slammed her fist onto her blaring alarm clock. She rolled out of bed and walked into the bathroom. She wasn't typically a morning person and usually slept long after her alarm clock sounded. Sofia hadn't texted Zoe back last night like she promised, so it being her sole motivation, she decided she would actually try to get up on time.

She showered quickly and changed into one of her uniforms, a grey pinafore dress over a white blouse. Her school was better than most in terms of dress code, they actually let their students have a variety of uniforms to choose from.

She four-stranded her hair across the top, threw on a bit of mascara, and brushed her teeth before heading out the door. As she walked out to the bus stop, her stomach growled. She didn't usually go this long without food, having skipped lunch and dinner, as well as breakfast this morning. The bus came to a stop in front of her and she climbed on, plopping down beside Zoe.

"What was that whole appointment thing about?" she asked suspiciously.

"Sorry that I couldn't text you, my dad took me to a psychiatrist because he thinks I've gone crazy," she explained.

Zoe's eyes widened, "Did they figure it out?"

"Well, the guy, Ash, did seem really suspicious, he ran a whole bunch of tests," she admitted, "I just hope it's nothing bad."

The bus came to a stop and the girls got off, heading straight for their lockers, going as fast as they could to avoid being late for the first period, English class. It was Sofia's favourite period of the day and she didn't want to miss a minute of it.

Sofia burst into the classroom and rushed to her seat just as the bell rang.

---

*Sofia Tere... Teresh... Sofia please report to the front office immediately* The intercom blared. Sofia sighed and stood up, it wasn't the first time someone had given up on trying to pronounce her last name. (A/N: Anyone else have an impossible to pronounce last name?) She walked out of the lunchroom and down the hallway to the front office.

Walking into the front office, she stopped dead in her tracks.

Ash? What was he doing here?

He turned around, "Hey Sofia! I'm taking you out of school for a bit, I have some updates on your condition that I'm guessing you don't want your dad around for."

She nodded, still weirded out by the fact that her psychiatrist decided to pick her up from school. It's not exactly something that happens every day.

He grabbed her sign out slip and they left the building, heading towards a silver Ford Fusion. She climbed into the passenger seat and he started the car. He pulled out of the parking lot and her phone buzzed.

Where did you go? You were right here a second ago!

-Zo

She had completely forgotten about Zoe.

Srry Zo, Ash came to pick me up, apparently it's something important. Can u bring my bag home? Meet u at the bus stop.

-Sofia

She slipped her phone away just as they pulled up to a vacant parking lot.

"What are we doing here?" she asked.

"This information is strictly confidential, so I had to find somewhere that nobody would be," he replied.

He pulled out a folder, the same one from before, Case 104.
