Chapter Five

I woke up with a raging headache. It felt like my brain was melting, exploding, and having the life squeezed out of it all a the same time. I'm not sure if the pain is from me falling on the ground or all the alcohol and drugs I took last night. It's probably both.

I sat up and realized I wasn't in my bed. I looked around the room I was in noticing the grey walls, wood floors, and white fixations accenting everything. The way it was laid out showed that it was definitely a guest room of some sort. It was a pretty room, but it lacked a lot of character.

The last thing I remember was running out of the party. How did I end up here, I thought. I was trying to recall what happened after I left the party, but I couldn't. As I was thinking, the most horrible thought entered my head. What if he caught me?  I have never seen his house, so this could totally be his. I started panicking. I checked and saw that I still had last night's clothes on. That's a good sign. I told myself that there was no way he came after me, mainly because I punched him, but that doesn't matter.  No matter how hard I convinced myself I still couldn't get the thought out of my head.

I looked up because I heard a noise at the door. Well, I was about to find out who's room I was in. I felt my anxiety increase when the door opened.  I was extremely relieved when I saw Nick appear in the room. I think he noticed the worried look I had on my face.

"Hey, it's okay. It's just me. I saw you laying in the middle of the street and I didn't want you to get run over. I wasn't sure where you lived, so I took you here."

"Where is here exactly?"

"This is where my friends and I are staying. Some guy named Laramie. He's a friend of Jonah's. I think he knows you."

"Wait Laramie Burge, yeah I know him. He just graduated last year." So I'm at Laramie's house, lovely. He's a nice guy, but I didn't want the whole town knowing I passed out in the middle of the street. "Does he know that you brought me home drunk and put me in his guest room?"

"He wasn't home last night, so I'm going to say no." Oh, thank god. I'm very happy that he didn't witness that.

"I'm sorry that you had to take care of me last night. You didn't have to. Honestly, it's probably better if you just left me on the road to get run over."

"First of all, it would not be good for you to get run over, and second if I wouldn't have found you, that dick would've." He was right. I just hate feeling like a burden. "You need to go downstairs and eat, drink some water, and take some Advil. I have some laying out for you."

I nodded my head and walked downstairs. I looked down the hallway until I found the kitchen. I walked in and noticed a tall blonde man standing in there. I think he may have been with Nick and Jonah last night. He turned around when he heard me enter the kitchen.

"Hey, you're the girl that punched that guy last night." Shit, did everyone see that? "That was pretty impressive. I wasn't even talking to the guy and I was scared of him." I slightly laughed. I think he could tell that it was a touchy subject.

"Yeah don't remind me. Probably the worst decision I could ever make." I walked over to the fridge and found some eggs. "Do you know where a frying pan and some Advil is at?" I asked.

"Interesting combo, I think I should try it sometime." He is definitely a jokester. I laughed a little harder this time. "Pans are down there," he pointed to a lower cabinet, "and Advil should be in there," he pointed to a cabinet above my head. I walked over to where he pointed and grabbed what I was looking for.

"Sometimes you do what you gotta do to make yourself feel better," I said popping the Advil in my mouth and then downing it with a glass of water. I cracked an egg over the pan and started stirring the eggs with a spoon I found. I know I'm probably not cooking these right, but right now I'm just hungry and couldn't care less.

"Honestly that was kinda deep. Sounds like you are talking about more than just a hangover. Am I correct?" Of course, everybody just has to bring it up. It's like when I walk around they can smell the mental health issues oozing off of me.

"I'm going to stop you there. I just met you and I'm not going to spill my personal information to you," and with that, I went back to cooking my eggs. Suddenly I heard a noise come from the stairs.

"It's fucking breakfast time babies!!" I heard someone yell from the stairs. I turned my head and saw one of the boys from the bar and the party. He was slightly over average height and had dark hair and eyes. Those features were complemented with a slight beard. Damn, he was ruggedly handsome.

I saw Nick come running after him. "Yo Tal, watcha cookin'?" He asked as he jumped off the staircase. I erupted into laughter. I saw the three boys looking at me strangely.

"Did he just call you Tal?" I asked through a fit of laughter.

"Yes. Unfortunately, my parents hated me and named me that. I have a brother named Rad. It's short for Radley." Damn, his parents must have hated them to use names like that.

"Yeah and I'm Cooper," the kid with the beard said. That ruined everything. Such a handsome name and it had to be ruined with cooper. That was the name of my grandparent's dog.

"Well, cooper. Nice to meet ya." I swear this group of boys has such weird names. Other than Nick and Jonah. I walked over to the counter, suddenly feeling something. OH SHIT. Fucking shit. Why right now. I think Nick noticed something change.

"Jay, are you okay?" he asked. Not at all.

"Let's just say my Aunt came to visit," I replied. The boys looked confused.

"Huh?" they all answered at the same time. I rolled my eyes. I swear to god, men don't understand anything. I just kept quiet to see if they would get it. After about thirty seconds I gave up.

"Look it's my time of the month boys, so I need lady products stat. I hope you know where some are." I saw shock was over their faces. "I kinda need them NOW."

Without saying anything they ran looking through the bathrooms for stuff. In the meantime, I went to an open bathroom, checked to see if they had anything. They don't just my luck. Looks like I'm using toilet paper.

Suddenly I heard a knock on the door. "Hello?" I asked.

"It's Nick, I found some." I was thinking about how this was going to work.

"Alright, crack the door open and close your eye. Throw it in the room. I will be able to get it. " He did just that. Finally, after resolving the problem, I went back to the kitchen. I finished cooking my breakfast and went back upstairs.

I looked at my phone and saw a hell of a lot of missed calls. I listened to the voicemails. Just my friends trying to figure out where I am. I called Max back to tell her I was fine when she dropped the news.

She told me she found an apartment in New York that we could afford and she bought it. She also told me that I got into Columbia University and would be attending there with her and the boys. I was over the moon ecstatic.

I am finally getting my ass out of this hell hole.

It has been a long time since I have updated. I sincerely apologize. I've been dealing with some shit and needed to take some me-time.

This chapter was more of a filler, but I'm going to update more soon.
