masquerade ball

i went up to the hufflepuff common room after class. "GUYS!" i said when i saw rebekah, jade and daniela sitting on the couch.
daniela: hey elle, what's up?
elle: you know how i love love love LOVE masquerade balls?
jade: you might've mentioned it.
rebekah: a few thousand times. don't worry, i feel the same way.
elle: well, i just got the most AMAZING idea. we should throw one!
rebekah: but where? and how?
elle: listen, we can throw it this weekend in the room of requirements. just our friends and us and if they want to bring people they can.
daniela: but how are we going to get everything for it?
elle: dany, darling, you seem to forget the fact we're witches.

we then got all that we needed for the party and invited cedric, draco, fred, george, neville, oliver, luna, and hermione to come. hermione invited ron, ginny and harry to come. i knew draco was going to be weird around harry, but i told him to cool it. we got all our dresses together. i decided to wear a pretty big black dress. rebekah was being indecisive, but i helped her pick out a black and gold dress. jade wore a long dress that faded from black to dark blue, and daniela wore a similar one except it faded to red.

i went with rebekah to the room of requirements first, and we abruptly stopped when we got in. it was more beautiful than we imagined. and it looked completely different that the usual parties we use it for. it looked so elegant, like i was in the one muggle book, Pride and Prejudice, i learned about in muggle studies. (i'm a geek for muggle culture leave me alone).

then, people started coming. first, fred and george came. then, daniela and neville. then, luna and jade came together. then, harry and ginny. right after, ron and hermione came. lastly, cedric came. i sat and talked to luna to wait for draco, and he arrived last. i gave him a huge hug and kissed him, and we sat down to talk to luna some more. everything she said absolutely fascinated me. hermione may know everything about the same wizarding world, but luna understands everything. soon, we all started dancing in pairs. we were practically all couples except luna, oliver and neville, so they danced together in a group. i talked to draco about how good they would look together. i realized this at the yule ball, but draco was an incredible dancer. lucky for him, so was i. i was looking at rebekah and cedric, and we practically got into a very... elegant dance battle. we didn't say directly, but i think they won, which we were kinda bummed out about, so we just danced some more. he gripped my waist tightly, and i could feel his ring clad fingers tighten. i couldnt help but blush at this, so he said "yeah?" teasingly referring to my red cheeks. i rolled my eyes and looked to the side, which he responded by putting my chin back up to face him. after a while, i danced together with my friends and then with hermione and ginny. then, we ate food we got from the kitchens and ate together. i went to dracos dorm to hang out for a while, then went to my dorm to sleep. it was crazy how no teachers found out about it. i could've sworn i saw dumbledore and professor lupin outside, but i'm glad we didn't get caught. it's not exactly agains the rules, but it's kinda sus we were using this room for a party.
