Junior Year : A Jenzie Story

Chapter 1

"Kenzie ur alarm" a voice yelled from the other room waking Kenzie up from her sleep. She got up and turned off her alarm "if you don't hurry you'll be late" her dad said swinging open her bedroom door. The clock read 5:23am. "Dad have you seen my other shoe" Kenzie questioned as she searched through her closet. She got up at 5:20 every morning so she had time to go on her morning run around her neighbourhood. "I guess these old things will have to do" she said as she reached underneath her bed grabbing her old shoes as she laced them up and ran out the door. "Be right back" she said as she ran past her dad and out the front door starting her run.

Running was Kenzie's thing. She couldn't remember a time where she didn't run. Her parents always told her that she was practically running before she even crawled. But it wasn't a surprise, She was definitely determined to be a great runner. She rounded the corner and waved to the woman watering flowers on her front porch. "Looking good today Mackenzie!" The woman yelled from her porch as Kenzie ran past. She said that everyday it was really jsut part of the routine. Kenzie ran every day at the same time to keep her Routine. Running was Kenzie's everything. When she was running she felt like she could do anything or anything could happened and she could jsut run it off. She was training for a scholarship for one of the best running schools in the world. She always dreamed of running track at the school but she knew her dad couldn't afford it. Even though he would tell her all the time that he'd make her dream come true no matter the cost, she still knew that the only way she could make it was through a scholarship. she ran up her driveway  stoping at her front door and looking down at her watch. "2 seconds faster today" she said gasping for air. Kenzie ran up to her room quickly grabbing the stuff she needed for a shower. "Maddie hurry up I need to shower" Kenzie said banging on the bathroom door.she pushed by her older sister as maddie walked out all full of glam and in a cute outfit. They were nothing like each other. Maddie was the most popular girl in their school. Maddie was a year older and in her senior year. She was like your typical popular  dancer that could get any boy she wanted. One the other hand Kenzie wasn't popular she barley had time between running track, school and work to have friends. But she liked school she had Annie and Lauren and she liked her small group.
"Kenzie hurry I don't wanna be late for my first day of senior year" maddie yelled as she walked by Kenzie's room ready for school. It was now 7:50am and school started at 8:20am. Maddie honked the horn of her car as Kenzie was running out of the house. "Sorry I couldn't find a shirt" she said entering the car. It was a short drive to school. They used to walk but since maddie got her license she drove.
