I was scrolling through my Instagram Sunday night and I saw Johnny posted a picture. He was pretty cute I had to admit. I get why everyone always had a crush on him.
It was now the next morning and I ran this morning. "3 seconds more, shit" I said as I looked at my watch. I was distracted and I hated it. There was no way I'd do good in the meet if I'm distracted. I got dressed and went to school hoping I could get my head straight. I met up with Annie and Lauren at my locker. "Guys, Hayden texted me!" Annie squealed!! "He wants me to go watch their practice tonight!! Please tell me you guys will come with me" she said giving us puppy dog eyes. "Yeah I'll come" Lauren said and then they both looked over at me "please kenz it would mean everything" Annie said making a pouty lip. "I've got practice but maybe after?" I said. They noded and we walked off to our first period. "Today we will be arranging seats by request" the teacher said. Me and Annie looked at each other hoping to not get different partners. "Annie you'll be sitting with Sophia and Mackenzie with Johnny" the teacher announced. I felt so bad for Annie but I felt good that Johnny didn't have to sit with Sophia "sorry I just couldn't stand sitting with her" Johnny whispered to me. "I get it" I responded smiling and putting my attention back to the teacher. "I heard Annie is coming to watch Hayden play today?" Johnny said discreetly so the teacher wouldn't hear. "Yeah they are" I replied still trying to focus on the teacher. A couple mins later he said looking at me "so are you coming too than?" " I have practice so I'm not sure" I replied. "Oh common, with that running time you don't even need practice" he whined. I didn't know why he wanted me to come so bad. It was now the end of the day and I went to practice. I still couldn't get those 3 seconds back. I know 3 seconds doesn't seem like a lot but in running it could mean everything. I didn't end up going to the hockey game, I had to keep running I was frustrated I couldn't get my time back up. "Kenzie take a break you're just tired now" my coach yelled as I walked off the track. I was on my way home and texted Annie, I felt bad for not being able to go.

I went to bed early tonight, so I could get lots of rest and hopefully have a better run tomorrow. My run was still off in the morning so i knew I was going to have a bad day. I couldn't understand it I had never done this before. I could always get my run time back the next day. I got to school late today. I sat down In my new spot next to Johnny "turns out you didn't show to the practice last night" Johnny said "yeah I'm having some bad practices I can't get the time I need" I replied. "You work to hard" he said "do you ever have time for fun?" He said to Kenzie "yeah I have fun all the time" I replied "You and Annie should come skate with me and Hayden tonight" he said. I looked at him and shook my head "I got practice after school" he replied. "No I mean Later at night" he said smiling. "Just think about it" he said grabbing my phone. " what are u doing" I said shocked by him grabbing my phone. "Relax Ziegler, just adding my number in case you make up your mind and wanna come tonight" he added his name as John;) in my phone. Just then the bell rang and I got up and headed to second period. I had second period with only Annie. So I told her about what Johnny said. "Omg you have to say yes Kenzie" she replied almost screaming and getting the whole classes attention. "I don't know also Lauren would probably be mad" I said back quiter getting the class to look away. "She's hanging out with ruby tonight" Annie answered "ruby was one of her friends who also happened to be nadias sister. "I'll think about it" I replied.
