I smiled at the bouquet of fresh red roses in my hands. They smelled amazing, just as she liked it, their petals as soft as her skin.

It was her birthday, and what could be a better gift than her favourite flowers, right?

Right.

Sighing, I looked up at the main door as the guard opened it for me. He passed me a knowing smile, I smiled back. It's been quite a while since I came to visit her.

I slowly made my way inside, to her. I knew where she exactly was. I had memorised each corner of this place.

The loud thumping of my heart echoed in my ears, it was rather deafening, a thing which always happened whenever I had to meet her.

This stupid heart.

I paid no attention to it as I walked up to her burial in the cemetery, placing the roses at her grave.

"Happy birthday, love."
