Sophie POV:

Sophie Foster, a senior college student at Stanford that was soon to graduate though she was only 19, held her phone closer to her chest and closed her eyes. It was everything she was anticipating for. One minute until she would receive a phone call-- or would not. What she was waiting for in the call was not a pizza delivery notification or a friend who was going to call. It was something major.

Last week, Sophie had auditioned for "The Void", a movie which originally stemmed from a book titled the same. The book followed a girl named Amelia Mercury, the protagonist of which Sophie auditioned for. She admired Amelia in many ways. Her strength, endurance, and humor. A few other main characters were Kyle Hurst, a remarkable character, Rose Dunn, a character whom Sophie disliked very much, from her traitorous actions, remarks, behavior, and desire to split the two leads. Rose had to be one of the best worst characters-

2:00pm.

She had not received a phone call. Sophies heart skipped three beats. What if she did not get the part? Would all her time be wasted? She tried to avoid that thought, but every time she pushed it away, it would always come back. Sophie hoped that they were running late, and not that the role was for someone else. It would be better that way though. She thought. I'm sure there are much better candidates for the part. I should just give up.

The digital clock flashed a bold 2:15. I wonder who got the role then...

RING!!

Sophie picked up her phone in an instant. She could not believe it. It was the director of the movie's phone number. Had she gotten the part?

"Hi, is this Sophie Foster?" The familiar director's voice asked.

"Yes."

"This is the director of The Void. Congratulations on getting the part of Rose Dunn!"

"Thank you-- Rose?" Sophie gasped in shock when he said the news. She had auditioned for Amelia, not Rose. What did this mean? There had to be some sort of error or miscommunication.

"Apologies for the late announcement. Brielle Quartz, the famous model, wanted the part, so we decided to give her the role of Amelia Mercury. Are you up to job for Rose?"

Sophie's eyes widened. She felt a sudden pulse of anger, resentment, and jealousy, but she held it in. She could not say no-- after all, even having the part of Rose would be quite an accomplishment.

"Yes, I am."

"Great! Meet us at the same studio next week. We will begin photo shoot sketches and costumes, and the entire crew of actors will be there." The director mentioned. "Also, please create an Instagram as soon as possible so that we can tag you! Have a nice day, if you have any questions, email me. Bye!"

"Got it, thank you! Goodbye!" Sophie said before he hung up. Great. She had the part she most dreaded thanks to Brielle Quartz. Sophie had heard the name before, but still had no idea who Brielle was. Sophie did not have an Instagram, so she decided to create one.

She chose the username sophiefoster, and sent an email to the director.

Sophie flopped onto the couch. She needed to find a way to channel her inner villainess tendencies, but to her misfortune, she did not have any. There was no way she could pull this off without completely embarrassing herself.

Turning on the news, Sophie sat back on the couch and listened intently.

"I am Dakota Smith from XYZ News, and just minutes ago, it is reported that the upcoming movie, The Void, based off the immaculate book by H. Johnson, will star Brielle Quartz as Amelia Mercury, Keefe Sencen as Kyle Hurst, Fitz Vacker as Daniel Oliver, and Biana Vacker as Isabelle Oliver. The role of Rose Dunn will be played by little known Sophie Foster. Supporting cast details have not been released yet, and we will update as soon as we receive the informati-"

Sophie turned off the T.V. She did not want to increase her stress levels, which were already soaring.

What struck her the most, though, was that she was mentioned in the same group of names as the celebrities just seconds before. Especially one name she had not expected.
