Aurora's eyes slowly opened, she could still feel the tiredness behind them from the events last night. She rolled over, knowing the second her eyes fluttered open that King Alaric wasn't in the bed with her. She saw her dress still laying on the floor making her heart clench slightly. She ruined a good night by having a childish panic attack. She can't even remember the last time she had one to be honest.
There was a small knock on the door but Aurora didn't bother answering it. She didn't want to move at all just lay in this bed and cower away hide form everything that's been happening to her. Maybe if she she just stayed in bed it would all stop.
Alaric opened the door looking at his mate, who was facing the door looking at it with no emotion on her face. He let out a soft sigh walking over to her sitting on the side of the bed, he placed his hand on her shoulder forcing her to look at him.
"You are going to have to eventually get up," He smiled, softly kissing her cheek.
"If I lay in bed nothing can happen to me," She mumbled, rolling onto her stomach burying her face into the pillow.
"Nothing more can happen to you, love. I won't let it happen," He sighed, trying to flip her over. She looked up at him not really sure what to say.
"I want to see Collin," She finally spoke, the king's eyes widened slightly before letting go of her arm and standing up slowly. He cleared his throat as he looked at his feet, now ashamed slightly of what he had done.
"I lost control over my Lycan after you fell asleep. Collin is dead. I couldn't stop it, he brought pain to you and my Lycan hated the fact that he was still up and able to walk around so cocky and annoyingly," He growled, running a hand through his hair, not daring to look into his mates eyes scared she would be mad at him.
"Thank you," She whispered, taking him by surprise. He looked up at her too see a soft small smile on her lips. "I was planning on killing him myself. I should have done it last night when he threatened me once more this time with my life. I was just scared that he would hold true to his words and his father would find a way to dethrone me." She got up and walked over to her mate, planting a soft kiss on his lips making his smile grow. She was perfect.
"Show me your Lycan," She smiled up at him, he softly rolled his eyes before nodding. He wanted to have them meet. His Lycan was every part of him, as he was of himself. Aurora took a step back, as Alaric began to shift into his Lycan. Instead of the 6 foot man that was standing before her, a 8 foot Lycan now stood in his spot, towering over Aurora like a skyscraper.
"Wow," She breathed out, making his Lycan chuckle as Alaric gave him full control.
"You wanted to see me?," The voice that was much different than Alaric's spoke, it was deeper, more scratchy sounding too.
"I just wanted to see his other half," She shrugged softly, smiling up at the Lycan before her. If this was a couple years ago, she would have stood in fear, knowing that he could rip her apart in a matter of seconds; but he was her mate and she knew he would never hurt her.
"My name is Atticus. I am the king Lycan," He grunted, as she began to circle his body. She softly reached up and traced a scar that ran from his shoulder blade to the dip in the small of his back.
"Why doesn't Alaric have some of the scars you have?," She asked, tracing another one that she hadn't seen on Alaric's body.
"The scars on his body are scars he got in his Human form. The scars I have are the ones I got in battle," He said, turning around her hand still on his fur. She nodded softly, going to remove her hand, but Atticus softly grabbed her hand in his keeping it to his chest. He loved his mate giving him attention in his Lycan form.
