Ginny's eyes grew wide as she involuntarily clenched her fist. The lizard let out a choked chirp and Ginny relaxed her hand apologetically. Luna put out her own hand for Harry to scamper on to, and he did so obligingly. Luna made sure to have a gentle grip on Lizard Harry as she whispered words of comfort to him.

Luna was usually very literal, so Ginny thought that either she had completely misunderstood the other girl, or this really was Harry Potter in lizard form.

"What happened?" Ginny breathed, putting her hand out to take back the lizard. Luna looked at her nervously. "What? Did you do this?" Ginny gestured to the contents of Luna's hands.

Luna shook her head. "No, I was just considering whether giving Harry back to you would be a good idea."

"Oh, yeah, fair point." Ginny shifted from foot to foot. "Sorry about that... Harry." The red-haired girl felt very odd calling this lizard by the name of the Gryffindor boy who was supposed to be in his dormitory, as a human.

"Sorry," Luna replied, with an expression of sympathy for the other girl.

Ginny's patience was wearing thin. "Luna, what happened?"

"To be entirely truthful, I don't really know. I was walking down this corridor and I heard a chirping noise, so I looked around and found this little guy." She gestured to Lizard Harry. "I was sure it was Harry as soon as I heard him chirp."

Ginny had regained her composure and was now very adamant about finding out what was going on. "Animagus form, do you reckon?"

At this, Luna adopted her dreamy look and the two fifth years stood in silence for a bit before she responded, "Harry's patronus is a stag, so I don't think his animagus form would be a lizard. It is very cute though." Ginny snorted at this.

"Cute? It's bloody hilarious, we have to go show Ron and Hermione." Luna gave a slightly disapproving look.

"I don't mean to alarm you, but I suspect someone must have done this to him, with the intent to hurt him. We should get him looked at by Madame Pomfrey."

Ginny frowned. "Oh don't be so boring, Loony. We can take him to the hospital wing after we show the Gryffindors."

Luna considered this. "Well... alright." She sounded resigned. She had a soft spot for the other girl, and I suppose she wasn't very good at standing her ground; there was a reason she wasn't sorted into Gryffindor. Actually, there were many reasons she was a Ravenclaw, and this just happened to be one of them.

They made their way back to the Gryffindor common room, which took a very short time, considering the portrait hole was just around the corner.

"Wait a minute, how did you know the password?" Ginny often forgot that Luna was not in her house.

"Snuck in after a couple of first years." Luna responded casually.

"The Fat Lady didn't see you?" Ginny suspected the other girl had come up with some brilliant plan to get into the common room, that she wasn't letting Ginny in on.

"Ginny, you must stop calling her that. Please, call her by her proper name." Luna deflected.

"That is her proper name." Ginny said impatiently. "How did you get into the Gryffindor common room?"

"Dissolutionment charm..." She stared down at Harry guiltily, purposefully avoiding eye contact with the other girl.

"LUNA! I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU FIGURED THAT OUT BEFORE ME! I WAS WORKING ON IT FOR WEEKS!" Ginny pretended to be surprised, when really, this was completely predictable. At least Luna had the sense to hide it from her.
