He leads me back to the common allway, where it's more crowded.

A lot of- no scratch that- everyone is looking at us like we both grew two heads. Confusion is written all over their faces as they whisper, probably about us, as we walk past them.

I scoot closer to Ezekiel's side. They all look so intimidating with their stares.

Ezekiel seems to notice too because I feel him tense up but he continues walking. "Stop staring assholes.'' he spits out.

He sounds scary talking like that.

Zeke still seems tense so on instinct, I grab his hand and squeeze it a little.

He looks down at me and his eyes soften. I smile up at him.

He doesn't seem to mind the fact that we're holding hands, so I keep mine there.

His are so big compared to mine.

Well, it's probably just me who has tiny hands.

He leans down and brushes a piece of hair behind my ear.

''Sorry sweetheart, I didn't mean to scare you.'' he spoke softly.

His close proximity makes me blush and he chuckles at this.

We just met not even then minutes ago but we are already holding hands. I should probably feel uncomfortable but he has a powerful aura around him that makes me feel safe.

Now that I think about it, he's probably the bad boy type. He has tattoos and a lot of people seem to be scared of him.

Just my type.

I giggle evely in my head.

After about a minute, we enter the classroom.

I notice there are no two empty seats next to each other available.

That makes my smile fall. I would have loved to sit next to Ezekiel.

He leads us to an empty seat in the back.

I frown. "Zeke, there is only one seat back here.'' Without answering,he turns to a boy with big black glasses on his nose sitting in the seat next to the empty one. "Move'' is all he says.

The guy quickly gets up and goes to the front of the class to find another spot.

He motions for me to take a seat. Once I do, he follows, sitting next to me.

The bell rings and it makes me jump. Ezekiel turns to me and chuckles. I pout which makes him chuckle even more.

"Mr. Jon is always a bit late to class so we have time to talk'' He explains.

I smile up at him and all my anxiety seems to disappear. "Are you new here? I've never seen you around.'' He says. "Oh- Yes I'm new here. It's my first time at a public school since I used to be homeschooled before'' my response seems to surprise him so I continue. "My parents surprised me yesterday, saying I would start Monday. I'm really excited.'' I smile.

"Well, I'm Ezekiel Parker, I have always attended highschool here. Lived here all my life, on the island. You?'' He gives me a curious look.

"Yes I was born here. I've always loved it here, it's hot and I love to go to the beach and surf. Oh- do you surf?'' I ask excitedly.

Surfing has always been my favorite sport. I started at a very young age. I'm quite good at it, if I do say so myself.

"Of course I do, I'm the best on the whole island'' he says smugly, giving me a wink. "I have a surf competition this weekend, would you like to come?''

He says it like it's not important but I do catch a glimpse of hope in his eyes.

"I would love to!''

As soon as these words leave my mouth, he seems to relax.

"Great, I'll text you''

"Perfect'' I exclaimed excitedly.

After a few seconds he frowns.

"What?''

He chuckles and mutters something under his breath. "Could I please give me your number sweetheart, so I can text you?''

I blush. "Oh, yeah I forgot, silly me''

He hands me his phone and I type in my info.

Soon enough, the teacher walks in and starts the lesson.

During the whole period, Ezekiel keeps his tattooed arm around my chair and whispers silly pickup lines in my ear, making me blush.

That probably boosts his ego way too much.
