Sunkits POV:

'Ugh why am I so hot?' I wiggled around a soft mossy area. I didn't remember a thing. The nest I was in felt nice and comfortable, with a sweet milky smell.

After what felt like days, I finally opened my eyes to look around, to see a large, white, fluffy cat looking down at me and the other kit.

"Hello, Sunkit," the she-cat softly meowed. I wiggled toward her to nurse, while the other kitten slept. "That's your sister, Moonkit." My mother spoke to me softly, like she was trying to calm me. "Why am I so hot?" I complained. My mother ignored the question and scooted Moonkit toward her belly.

When sundown came, Moonkit finally opened her eyes. They were a beautiful violet, and when I asked what color mine were, my mother told me amber. I really wish my eyes were pretty like Moonkits.

"Hey sis! Wanna go outside into the camp?" I asked poking her. "No I'm tired," she mumbled. I groaned, Mother would only let me go out if my sister came with me, so I just went and bothered the other kits in the nursery. They all groaned when they saw me. Poppykit and Rainkit threw a piece of moss at me, while Stormkit just sat watching.

"Meanies!" I howled. I went and waddled back to Moonkit, who was fast asleep. I poked her until she finally got up, and we played in the nursery.  When we were wobbling around Citrusfall, she got her paw and pushed us toward her, ordering us to go to bed.

"But I'm not tireddd," Moonkit moaned. "Go to bed now, or you're going to have to tell your father why you are in trouble." Citrusfall said. As soon as she said that, I rushed up to her side and laid down, and Moonkit shortly followed.

The next morning, Koistar burst into the nursery, flooding us with attention. He was all over us, playing with us. Me and Moonkit were happy, but Citrusfall looked less enthusiastic. "Kits why don't you go around the camp?" Koistar asked. "No!" Citrusfall shouted, "There is still greencough riddled around camp, I don't want something to happen to them." Mother looked at him sternly, but her eyes were clouded and it looked like what she said had a way deeper meaning than I thought. I decided to push the thought away and go back to playing.
