Citrusfall POV:

I missed my kits every single day. Every moment. Every sunrise and sunset. It was all Koistars fault too. He suggested they go outside and then they caught greencough. I guess it's not all his fault though. I still love him though, and being the leader's mate has its perks. I get the best patrols and, I always get to go to gatherings.

When Frostpelt, Otterfur, and Applelight brought me those kits, I was astonished. They were beautiful, but the last one, a pure white fluffy kitten, was dead.  As soon as the warriors put them down, they snuggled up to me and slept.

"Why did you bring me these rogues?" I asked skeptically. "Is this one of Koistar's plots to help me?" I was informed that they had found them in a bush at the border and that they needed a mother. They must've been only a day old as their eyes were closed and they were mewling like crazy. Silverleaf trotted into the den and checked the kits. "They wouldn't have survived any longer out there," she informed. The two live kits were fine, and then Koistar took the dead one out to be buried.

Koistar came back into the den with a serious look on his face. "Citrusfall, we need to discuss something." I swung my head towards him, "Be quiet the kits are asleep!" I lead him out of the den to the small stream behind the elder's den.

"These kits mustn't know they were found as rogues. They will think you're their mother and I'm their father until they become apprentices. Then only I will tell them the truth." I eyed him angrily, "Why can't I?!" He lashed his tail. "Citrusfall, we both know the answer to that."

When I came back to the den, Sunkit looked at me confused. "Who are you?" "I'm you're mother!" I replied in a happy voice. Moonkit started to wake up, but she went back to sleep. The contrast in their pelts shocked me. It was like they weren't even siblings! The kits were a mess. Sunkit harassed everyone in the den while her sister slept so much I thought she was dead. I honestly hoped it too. These kits weren't mine and never will be.

Their "father" came to see them the next morning. It disgusted me how he barely cared his real kits are dead. But he sat there, playing with them. I wish I was like Blossomfoot. Her kits were so perfect. Poppykit was beautiful, and her brothers were just as handsome. They were well behaved and respected everyone. Except for Sunkit and Moonkit of course. I kept a happy face for my kits though. They were kinda nice I guess...
