On the other side of town, Mina and her team were watching the target building. There hadn't been any visible movement through the beaten and shattered windows for over an hour. Mina was laying face up on the pavement behind the fence that circled the property. Jirou had nearly fallen asleep listening for sound inside with her quirk. Midoriya had been constantly pacing, but eventually switched to muttering and tapping his feet. Eraserhead stared at his students, and tried not to show how impatient he was becoming too. He shot a glance at Mina, who was slowly releasing acid to form a hero-shaped dent in the ground.
"I know theres not much happening, but this is all part of hero work," he sighed, rubbing his sore eyes and slouching against the big metal fence.
Jirou yawned a little, and retracted her earphone jacks before looking at her team.
"There hasn't been any sound in there for an hour and," she paused to check her watch, "twenty-two minutes. I think that it was a false alarm."
The older pro hero shrugged his shoulders, and pressed a button on his radio.
"Mic, any updates?"
Silence came from the other end, then a crackle of static.
"Depends on what you mean by updates."
"Mic, I need an actual answer."
"I may... I may or may not have lost track of my students."
The three kids that had been so tiredly restless only a few seconds before were suddenly at the radio. Eraserhead let out an equally frustrated and worried sigh.
"You had one job," he said into the speaker.
"It's not easy with these three! I'm just as freaked out as you are!"
He pressed on his forehead with his palm, then turned to his students.
"Listen, I'm gonna go try and find them. You three will stay here and not move unless it is life and death. Got it?"
They all nodded, and he began to run deeper into the city.

Working with Tsu and Hagakure was definitely interesting.
Tsu's tongue works quite a bit like my tape, so I thought we could just try and scout the city together from above. Hagakure would have been kind of third-wheeling though, so we stuck to the ground. We found a few injured people, but nobody needed extensive medical attention.
"Hey, Se- I mean Cellophane... Does that building look kinda wobbly to you too?" Hagakure asked.
I couldn't quite figure out where she was pointing until I spotted her glove directed at a huge tower. It did seem to be swaying a little.
"Yeah, ribbit. I wonder if there's people inside," Tsu said, squinting at the tower as if she was hoping to see inside.
I shuddered a little. I was almost positive anyone inside would have figured out to run by now, but there was no way to make sure until we got there. We all must have had the same thought, because we all stepped forward in unison. We all nodded, and started towards the building.
-time skip 30 minutes because im lazy-
There was nobody on the first 8 floors. That left only 3 floors to search, and we were all getting a little worn out. Hagakure coughed and a layer of drywall dust blew off a wall. In the time we had been inside, the swaying had gotten more apparent. Ceilings occasionally collapsed in, close enough to scare but not close enough to actually hit any of us. I was surprised that the only injuries were Tsu's bruised leg (she tripped on the stairs) and my headache (I hit my head on the side of my helmet when I tried putting it on). Hagakure was totally fine, minus her constant coughing.
"I'll take the top floor," I said, already walking to an open window so I could skip the stairs.
"Sounds good! How about we all meet back here in a few minutes?" Tsu asked.
"Yeah-" Hagakure paused to cough a little. "I'll take the next one up."
I shot tape up to the roof and used it like climbing gear to get to the top floor. I swung through the window feet first, and landed on soft carpet. All the floors were formatted in the exact same way. There was a large room connected to a window, and a smaller room off to the left. Some floors were carpeted, some were not, but they all had the same layout. That made searching easy. There wasn't anyone on this floor either.
I began to walk towards the stairs when the building dipped far to the left. I heard Hagakure scream from below me. Holding onto the wall was pointless, so I laid flat on the floor. The whole world seemed to tip as we swayed back and forth, far more violently than before. I closed my eyes as the room went vertical. I only opened them when-
we were in the air. Everything was falling, concrete raining down like the world's most painful snow day. I couldn't see much with vertigo blinding me, but I was sure we were all going to hit the ground, and soon. I squeezed my eyes shut as tight as I could and braced for impact.

Bakugo was a great leader. I'm not just saying that because he's my friend, either. He's got a sort of pull that makes you want to follow him around and do what he says. I suppose that's how I ended up beside him in the heart of the chaos. Kaminari clung to my left side as we all surveyed the damage.
"Dunce, Riot, you two see that?" Bakugo pointed to a skyscraper a block away. It looked unstable.
"You mean the one that's probably gonna fall on us if we don't run?" Kaminari gulped. His fingernails dug into my skin.
"Sure. We're gonna go see if there's anyone inside," Bakugo said nonchalantly, as if everyone here could go unbreakable. He's going to get himself killed one of these days.
When we reached the building, it looked like it was made of jello. The top floor swayed with the wind. Kaminari still hadn't let go of my arm.
"I'll take the bottom 4. You two can figure out the rest," the shorter boy said. You'd think he'd have more self-preservation. I broke free from Kami and raced after my friend. I chased him all the way up to the 5th floor. I finally reached him, and placed my hand on his arm for support as I caught my breath.
"Hey, this definitely isn't safe. I'm sure one of the other teams already scouted it out-"
Bakugo cut me off with his hand over my mouth. He pointed up silently, and motioned to his ears. I tried to listen, and found that I could hear a clear female voice. It kinda sounded like Tsu, the more I thought about it.
Just then, the building pitched violently to the left. I lost my footing and fell right into his arms as we tumbled to the floor. I barely noticed it though, because just then, the whole structure snapped with a bang. Everything started falling, and the only thing I could think to do was hold onto my friend tighter.
