I set an alarm for 11:55 PM, hoping to be the first one to get a text through to Bakugo. I felt that as one of his best friends, it was my duty to annoy the hell out of him as early as humanly possible. I guessed that Mina was already up. She wanted to be first too. Actually, it was likelythat most of the class was awake. Last year, only a few of us actually remembered that it was his birthday, and the texts came throughout the day as everyone caught on. We all felt kinda guilty after that. Of course I remembered, but I certainly wasn't the first to say anything. I didn't know how he felt about birthdays, especially after hearing that Todoroki didn't like to celebrate his. I get it, with the family problems. Anyways, Bakugo isn't exactly the open type. He told us a few weeks ago that he actually liked his birthday, and I quote, "I don't care if you nerds text me or not. I just want you all to know that since it's my day, I get to be the boss. Got it?"

So we collectively agreed to throw him a party. I'td be a few people short, but like most of us, I was just gonna pretend nothing was out of the ordinary. That's been the plan since March. Don't act like anything is wrong, just keep acting dumb and making people smile. Just keep smiling and hiding. Just don't crack. Just stay calm. Just pretend.
