Chapter 13 - Clean [epilogue]

three months later

Karlie had never slept so well as she did since she woke up with Taylor often. After their conversation a few months ago, they hadn't let each other slip away anymore. They were together, a lot, cooked together, stayed over, went out for dinner, and lots more. They could not stay away from each other, and it made them both so happy.

"Hey Tay..." Karlie poked the singer, wanting to kiss her good morning, "wake up.." Taylor groaned, but when their eyes met, softened her expression and smiled. She leaned in, "good morning honey" and gave Karlie a kiss. She couldn't help but smile through it, thinking about how happy it made her to wake up next to her love.

They stayed in bed for a while but got up to make some food after a few hours. Whilst Taylor was in the kitchen, Karlie saw that she had received a message from her manager, Alex:

[9:48 AM] Hey Karlie, good morning! I attached a big article The Atlantic wrote, you are mentioned, and so is Taylor!

The article read the following:

"In recent months, an air of female empowerment has been hovering over the entertainment industry. Journalists have noted an uptick of female directors in music videos, most recently with Taylor Swift's newest release, and more and more women have spoken out about the importance of supporting each other.

Another notable appearance in Swift's new video was made by Karlie Kloss, the model and entrepreneur, who featured in the video. After divorcing Joshua Kushner, Kloss stated that it was because he and his family undermined her opinion and didn't want to see her grow as an independent woman. Since the separation, rumours that Kloss and Ms Swift are a couple have swelled on, but so far no confirmation has been made by either of the two women.

It will be interesting to watch the entertainment industry evolve, and become an environment where not only men will be able to thrive. These two women will make sure to lead by example."

Karlie nearly teared up when she read the article. The author made a valid point as well: Since Braun and Borchetta had stepped down and respected the NDA they signed, notably more female opinions had been voiced in the industry.

And most importantly, Taylor did not feel trapped by these men anymore. She was free to choose what she wanted to do. Luckily for Karlie, Taylor chose to be with her as well. They were finally clean from the storm of male toxicity, and chose a future with each other.
