[A/N] I got my first comment today! This is the first story I have every published on Wattpad, and it made me really happy. I don't know if you can notice, but English isn't my native language. I try my best to write everything perfectly grammar-wise though, so I hope it'll be okay. Also, let me know if it'd be nicer if I went to first-person perspective (Karlie as the "I") or if you prefer it the way I currently do it (Showing Karlie's thoughts in "she-perspective", but writing more like a narrator. If you have any questions, tips or other things you want to say about the story, don't hesitate to leave a comment or send me a message. Happy reading!
It was Wednesday morning, and Karlie had two meetings with her agency to prepare for. After that, it would be lunch time! She was excited to see Taylor again, and already doubted her outfit choice. Wanting to look nice though professional, Karlie kept it simple. She wore a simple, white t-shirt, and black wide-legged trousers.
With a long coat on top of it, her outfit was complete. She decided to walk to her meetings, as it was not too cold out.
On her way to the meeting, she heard a notification coming in. *You ready for lunch today?* Of course she was, Karlie hadn't thought about anything else. A few days had passed since the business meeting with the Kushners, and she still wasn't speaking to Josh. He kept his mouth shut as usual. They had had this before, a short phase of not being on 'speaking terms'. Mostly after disagreements over Joshua's family or their politics. But this time, it felt more final. Karlie didn't feel incentive to work it out, and had practically moved out to her other, a little smaller apartment.
Between her first and second meeting, Karlie heard her phone had an incoming message: *Yes, I'm ready. I'll see you at lunch :)* The model smiled, and thought back to her other lunch meet yesterday, when she had met with Lily.
[Flashback to yesterday]
Lily was a little late, so when she walked into the coffee shop, Karlie had been sitting there for a few minutes. "Hi hun, sorry I'm late! I had to wait for a sitter for Dixie, and had an IMG meeting.."- Before she could finish her sentence, Karlie nodded and smiled: "All good dear, no problem." She stood up and went to the bar to get the pair some coffee, "Latte, Lil?", she asked. Lil showed her a big smile, and after a while, Kloss returned with two cups of coffee.
Lily took a sip, and said, with a sly grin: "Sooooo, why did you want a certain someone's phone number?? I thought you and Taylor weren't speaking?"
"Well, we weren't", the blonde answered, "but I want to change that. Josh's fam said some mean things about her after her wonderful speech, and asked me to publicly shame her about it. Which I don't want to do!"
Karlie thought about the singer, her eloquent speech, and beautiful character. She didn't hesitate to speak many positive words about Taylor.
"Soo, I told the Kushners that they could suck it, to put it lightly. And me and Josh are as good as over. He has been super disrespectful." Karlie teared up a little bit, her voice breaking. Though she and Josh hadn't had a loving marriage for years now, the thought of separating was still a little scary. A lot in her life would be different afterwards. With the stresses of her daily life and excessive publicity, how would she even find someone else? She didn't meet that many eligible men.
