I was born in 2040, the magic year when science began to take off due to the rapid explosion of medical engineering and testing. The biomedical evolution began because of the microbiologist named Dr. Avery. As the advancement of medical pills and injections became more lethal and more potent, the government wanted to take it to the next level. They wanted a multitude of people who are similar to Robocops but without the suit.

Anyways, my family was very conservative. My mother stayed home and took care of me while my father worked as a microbiologist with Dr. Avery. Both scientists were very attached to their work and stuck together to create a better society. I remember my father coming home around three in the morning then leaving at five that same morning. He literally lived and breathed his work which is why I never made a strong connection to him. We never had that type of loving relationship that you would have expected from a father and son. Now, I spent the majority of my time with the woman of my childhood, my mom. We lived in this big house that was made of marble and sat on top of a hill overlooking Los Angeles. Gosh, my mom would take me to the beach every day where I ran around on the sand and swam in the ocean while she sat in a chair, reading the latest hit book. Those were delightful days.

When I became six years old, everything changed. My mother and father got a divorce which tore us apart. My father won custody over me because he had an actual job while my mother never worked for over 10 years. After that day, I never saw my mother again. I cried the night she left the house and I locked my door. I didn't want to look at my dad because he was an alien to me, a man who I didn't know at all and now I depended on him. He went to work the same like he did all of my life, working for the government and not coming home until late. The day I got kidnapped, of course started with a letter from my father.

Jackson,

I know how upset you feel about being alone all day and night. Please stay strong! I will be home from work early today and we can play a little catch with the baseball before the sun goes down. If anyone knocks on the door, don't answer. There are crazy people out there who want you, and you must go hide in your hiding spot underneath the floor if they try to come get you. I love you with all my heart!

Dad

At the bottom of the page, there were teardrop marks which was pretty self explanatory. He knew that they were going to take me, but he didn't do anything to save or protect me from harm. After I read the letter, I heard a creak from the hallway floor. I opened my door and a man put a cloth over my mouth. No more luxury.
