With a scraped up and dented helmet, Jackson began to stand up. It was hard for him, especially after something so dramatizing happening to him in such a short period of time. He began to stumble forward, limping off the bruises. Jackson made his way towards the laboratory. Upon entry, there were no guards to hassle him. Not a man or woman in sight was there to greet him at the entrance. As Jackson limped over to the elevator, a post it note read, 'Top floor. My office. Meeting.' He pressed the button for the elevator and the door opened. Jackson knew something suspicious was happening, so he walked into the elevator, clicked the top floor and walked straight out. Jackson regained his strength and opened the emergency exit door where the stairs lead straight up to the top floor. The young father waited, waited, waited, then a loud screech of the elevator falling down the shaft began. When the elevator hit the floor of the elevator well, it blew up. As the sound roared, Jackson sprinted up the stairs as cover so no one could hear him. When the sound disappeared, Jackson was already on the top floor, walking down the hallway to a door. He took off his helmet and gently put it on the ground. When Jackson got to the door, it was time for him to breech. Quietly, Jackson took a couple steps back from the door. Then he took a couple hard steps and broke right through the door.
His mother's office door went flying into the desk. His mother was pushed all the way back to the window, squished between the desk and the window which was fifteen stories up. Jackson slowly walked into the room. Angel and their son sat in the right corner where Jackson thought they would be. It was perfect timing, perfect execution on both ends. "Jackson, get me out from behind here!" screamed his mom. Jackson looked at her and begun to pace around the room. He pulled out a familiar book, the scrapbook in which Jackson's baby pictures were replaced with a box of cigars. Only one cigar was left which was perfect. He lit the cigar up and let it burn on the wooden desk in front of him. "You are going to burn everyone to death in here if you don't take that cigar off the desk." said his mother. Then Jackson looked at her and said, "Quite frankly, I don't have to worry about it. It's you who can't make it out of here alive, old hag." She mean mugged her son, but Jackson began to smile as he took off his helmet. "Mother, you have trapped me in this prison for almost my entire life. At any time, you could have took me out of there and placed me into a better environment where you could love me. I wouldn't have known, but you didn't want that. I look too much like dad and I know it. You stole his heart like you kidnapped me, trapping me inside a fifteen by fifteen room for most of my life. But now, oh, I'm gonna live like a king." said Jackson with the most wittiest of tongues. His mother then snapped, "You would have never," then Jackson covered her mouth and said, "Old woman, I don't need your opinion. Do you like fall?" She responded, "Yes, it has been my favorite season." Jackson turned his back to her, then quickly turned around, "Good! Have a great fall!" as Jackson draws his Glock, shoots the glass and kicks the table out the window. As his mother fell, Jackson threw the cigar out of the window and down to her corpse. She began to burn, just like his father did when she killed him.
Tragedies can turn people into archangels or they can morph them into majesties. Jackson fought for his life to find freedom. He fought hard for his wife and his son. When they reunited after the death of Jackson's mother, the family walked out of the laboratory and onto the cargo ship. Mr. Morgan greeted the young family as they boarded the ship. As they begin to journey back home, Jackson looks back to the island. Memories began to fill his mind. Those thoughts quickly went away as the marine layer made the island disappear. The legend of Jackson Helm has only just begun.
