Times were tough with people cursing, yelling, and attempting to kill each other. The northern section of the city was a protective castle while the southern section was a murderous criminal. I spent most of time downtown where I would prep war materials and place barricades. Angel would accompany me by bringing lunch and comforting the kids during our preparations. Part of our preparations was to hand out guns to each adult in the town. The new law was that each person had to carry a gun and knife in case of an attack on our city. Our newly formed law was simply not for a war, but for protection against a war. We knew that the enemy outnumbered us by nearly twice the amount of men and women. In addition to carrying weapons, each man and woman had to go through basic training just like the military. I hated putting everyone through these times, but it was much needed. Everyday, everyone sat on the edge of their seats waiting for the sound of a gun fire. It was waiting game as my city waited to be sieged.

After a month of having the wall up, tension started to rise even more. People from the southern section would throw incendiary grenades into the houses that resided along our side of the wall. When Angel became roughly one month and two weeks into pregnancy, I found myself in the center of attention. At the time I was finishing up my customized armor, polishing the chest piece when Angel came running down into the basement with Constantine. "Jackson, we got a serious problem.", Constantine said as he ran into the basement. I look at him and gave the signal of agreement to listen to the proposition. "Jackson, Ean wants to fight you. Now, if you don't do it, the whole city will be invaded and... he will do something to your wife and expected kid.", said Constantine in the most stern voice he could muster in this time. I looked at Angel, then turned to Constantine and said, "I will do it." Constantine scurried off and Angel ran up to me saying, "You can't do this! This is insane! He's gonna try to kill you! You are everything to me and I can't lose you!" I simply looked at my wife and agreed by saying, "Baby, you are right, but this misery has to stop here. After I beat Ean, I'm gonna take the southern section and we are getting off of this damn island. So pack your stuff because we are taking a permanent vacation." Angel stood in disbelief while I looked her square into her eyes. We were about to go through the toughest part of our lives, and I wasn't going to let this destroy us.

I placed the chest protector back into the armor creator and stood inside the capsule. The doors shut and my armor began to conform to my body, fitting to every curve and indent on my body, creating the most perfect fit for a warrior. My contraption then opened its doors, allowing me to step out into the open. My wife stared at me with a tear trapped in her right eye. It was my time to put an end to the corruption. Looking down at my wife, I kissed her and held it. If that was going to be my last kiss, it had to be the best and most memorable kiss I would ever have. Unlocking our lips, I looked into her eyes and the tear streamed down her right cheek. "Babe," she said, "may your strength be valiant, may your mind be swift, may your heart be filled with mercy. Kill the enemy swiftly my love. Take no prisoners for Ean does not deserve to live, nor does his followers." I took her words to heart and put on my helmet. "AI Jackson do you hear me?", I called to my robotic friend in my helmet. "Yes sir. What can I do for you?" said the AI. I took a deep breath, "Remember what my wife said and repeat it while I am in battle. I will need it in order to conquer my enemy." "Yes sir. I am ready for war when you are ready," called out AI Jackson. After confirming the statement with my AI, I climbed out of the vault and ran out the house towards the wall.

The road was lined with barricades. Men and women sat behind them watching me, their hero, walk towards the wall like the road was the red carpet. In front of me, the gate was open. Standing between the two walls was Ean, ready in an Exonaut suit which didn't surprise me. I knew every weak spot, where to hit, when to hit, and how to hit. My problem was knowing his power. I never got to see him use his power, but many rumors around town stated that he used electricity to kill anyone in his way. Never mind the super power he had, it was time to fight. "My friend," yelled Bill, "I will be the count down. Please kill this degenerate prick." I looked at him in surprise that he would say something so sharp. He continued, "I got a man named Mr. Morgan picking us with a boat and he will get us situated on the outside world. Are you ready?" "My brother, I am ready," I said to Bill confidently. The gate closed behind me as I walked between the two walls. People lined up on the top of the walls to watch the battle. Ean, of course, had the stupid grin on his face, but he didn't know what was coming. Bill, my best friend, counted down the time until the fight. Three, two, one, and the fight was on.
