"But he's been here before and come back around."

Monoma had not asked to cry today.

There he stood in absolute shock. His body froze in the middle of a street.  His eyes were pinned on a certain couple. Of course it's no surprise that it was Bakugo and (Y/N) that he was looking at, but that wasn't what shocked him.

Of course he'd unwillingly because accustomed to the two being everywhere with one another. But not once had he imagined that Bakugo and (Y/N) would be in the very spot that first lead to (Y/N)'s first heartbreak.

Underneath the very blossom tree Monoma had left (Y/N) to confess her love.

...

"I'm going to do it, Neito. I am. Watch me, Neito." (Y/N) told Monoma for the thousandth time that school day. At this point he had actually pieced together that it was actually her attempting to prep herself up, and Monoma couldn't help but find it amusing.

"Then why don't you just do it already?" Monoma grinned slyly at his friend who sucked in a breath, her shoulders sinking down as she'd dramatically slumped in her seat

"I CANT DO IT!" (Y/N) overreacted loudly. A couple people in the lunchroom turned at the sudden loud noise but none of them cared to continue to stare once they realised it was just some random first year student.  "NEITO YOU'VE GOT TO HELP ME!"

Monoma could feel as his cheeks tightened as he'd coyly leaned forward in his chair and over the dinner table. His face incredibly close to (Y/N)'s

"Maybe if you tell me who you're trying to ask out, then I could help you." Neito bargained, watching how (Y/N)'s cheeks flamed.

"I-I can't do that! It defeats the whole purpose of this-" (Y/N) rushed her speech in a hushed whisper to her blonde haired friend who'd chuckle slightly.

He couldn't help but feel the way his chest swelled, almost as though being filled with helium as he stared into the (E/C) eyes which belonged to his dearest friend.

"Why not? Because your crush is me?" Monoma cheekily questioned, attempting to slow down his rapidly increasing heartbeat.

(Y/N) choked on her own spit as she'd slam her hand on the table - rather excessively - before wheezing. At this Neito could already feel himself deflating.

"No-" her voice cracked." You're just my friend Neito- I'm actually referring to Katsuki Bakugo... I just want to try and ask him out myself."

Katsuki Bakugo

That stupid name.

That god damn stupid name was enough for Monoma to finally break.

He'd been through a lot in his life, but nothing had effected him as much as this had.

He was foolish, of course (Y/N) didn't have a crush on him... he wasn't good enough. He never had been good enough.

"You know what?" (Y/N) excitedly asked Monoma who let out a hum, unable to form a proper response to his friend who was oblivious to his saddened form. "I'm going to ask him out after school! At that blossom tree we walk past on the way to school!"

Later that same day

Neito had not expected to have a knock on his door that night. So, at the sound of the rapid taps on the door, he'd lift himself from his bed. In the process untangling himself from his covers before peering outside his window.

At the door stood a broke down girl, one who was unmistakable to him. And at the sight of her so broken his legs would move on their own.

He'd hurriedly exited his room and tripped down the stairs whilst wiping away his own tears.

Once at the door Neito had struggled with the keys for a moment, but at the click of the lock unlocking he was filled with anticipation as he'd yank the door handle.

When it was open (Y/N)'s form revealed itself as she'd rush into Monomas arms, breaking down in them as she'd bring herself to explain what had happened after Neito had unwillingly left (Y/N) under the blossom tree where she were to confess to Bakugo.

...

A car horn is what brought Monoma back from his initial shock. His body jolting upwards as he'd turn his head away from the couple who relaxed under the tree and to the unpleasant car driver.

"Get outta the way! I'm driving here." The unfriendly local sneered as Monoma timidly rushed across the street, watching as the man in the car spat out his open window as he'd turn the corner.

Although it was heavily rude, Neito couldn't help but be thankful to the driver who brought him back to reality. As he wasn't too sure just how much longer he could watch (Y/N) be happy without him.
