The Next Saturday
Joshua's Pov:The party I had started about an hour ago. Maybe more. I didn't drink. I didn't feel like it for the first time since before I started drinking. I was talking with a girl I'd 'done it' with a few times but couldn't remember the name of. While she was in the middle of talking, I got bored so headed outside to get some fresh air. That's when I saw Kaida in the shortest and tightest dress I think I had ever seen. It went down to just under her ass but covered her arms. At least something was covered. The back was low cut, it hugged her curves perfectly. She actually looked really hot in it. I grabbed her arm and dragged her to my room before she or anyone else could do anything. I threw her on my bed and locked the door.
"What the fuck?" She shouted.
"Funny, I was just about to ask the same thing."
"Oh, fuck off." She rolled her eyes and walked towards the door.
"Kaida, what are you doing?" I asked.
"Right now, I'm trying to get away from you." She rolled her eyes again. "And don't try to stop me, dickhead." She unlocked and opened the door then walked back downstairs.
Some time had passed, I still wasn't drinking. Many people had asked me why, everytime I simply answered with an 'I do not know'. I had kept an eye on Kaida all night, making sure she didn't get into any trouble and keeping Levi away from her. She had been with mainly Ava and Kyle. I took my eyes off of her for a second since a girl was trying to basically climb on me. Drunk girls are the worst flirters, I swear. Once I looked back, I saw Ava and Kyle but not Kai.
"Do you two know where Kai is?" I walked up to them.
"You're hot." Ava giggled.
"Ava! You can't say that!" Kyle giggled along with her and pushed her slightly.
"Thanks, but-"
"Why not?" She pouted.
"Can you just-"
"Because Kai likes him, duh!" That's when I finally shut up.
"Who what who now?"
"She does?" Getting ignored: lovely.
"Yepity! Jax said that he accidentally saw her diary when he was at Levi's house. He was in her room trying to find something for Levi. Anyway! Basically, it said something about her hating Brandon and him being a dick and that she was pretty sure she liked Josh and maybe even loved him." He giggled and bit his lip.
"Kyle." I grabbed his shoulder.
"Oopsy! Jax told me not to tell you." He grabbed a cup off of the table and drank whatever was in there.
"Where is Jax and/or Kaida?"
"Kaida was taken by Liam and Brandon and- and..... Jax... is...." He stared into space for a while. "Somewhere." He laughed.
"Liam?" I asked myself. "Where did they take her?"
"Upstairs, I think." Ava shrugged.
"Great, thanks!" I ran to the hallway which lead to the stairs. Before I could get out of the door, Kaida ran past me crying. She ran outside of the house and down the street. I quickly followed her. She moves quickly when she's panicking. She ran into the forest that we used to hang out in with Levi as kids. The forest led to a cliff which I found her sitting on the edge of. She had her hands in her head and was resting her elbows on her bare thighs. "Hey, Dragon." It felt nice to finally call her again. She looked up at me and smiled slightly.
"Hi, Teddy." Her voice was shaky. I reached out my hand to hers, she grabbed it and I pulled her up.
"What's wrong? What happened?" I tilted my head slightly.
"I'm sorry, Josh." She started to sob again. "Brandon is a hor-horrible person and- and I- I- should have...." Tears stopped her from speaking.
"No, no, no, shh." I pulled her in for a hug and stroked her hair to calm her. She hugged back tightly, if it were any tighter, I would be having trouble to breath. I sat down against a tree and brought her down with me. We went form hugging to cuddling.
"You were right, Josh. I'm so, so sorry." She sniffed once she had calmed down. "I knew you were from the beginning! I hate Brandon, I always have! But he said that if I didn't do as he said then he would-" She stopped talking abruptly.
"He would what, Princess?" I urged her to go on. She shook her head. I grabbed her chin and pulled it towards mine. She sat up until we were at eye level. "Darling, please tell me."
"He said I'm not allowed."
"He also said you're not allowed to talk to me but, hey, here we are." I shrugged. "Besides, he's not around." She shook her head again. "Can you at least tell me what made you run out of the house?"
"No! That's worse!" She shouted.
"Okay, fine." I sighed. "Start talking to Levi and me again, forget about Pyers and apologise to Lee?" I asked. She thought about it for a second.
"I can't."
"Do at least one of them for me, Kai. Please." I begged.
"Brandon said that if I disobeyed him or told anyone about this then he would..." She inhaled deeply. "He would show the full school a picture of me naked and hurt you and Levi very badly."
"What? Why does he- How does he- Why does he have a picture like that?"
"He got me drunk on our first date and tried to do stuff with me."
"Did he...?"
"No!" She quickly shook her head.
"Okay, good." I sighed, trying to stay calm for her. "I'll deal with it on Monday." She nodded hesitantly. After a while of silence, it started to rain. We stood up, about to walked back but, before either of us could walk off, I grabbed her arm lightly so I could ask a question that had been bothering me.
"Princess." She turned and looked up to me. "Kyle said that Jax had saw something in your diary-"
"What?" She cut me off.
"Accidentally." I added. "It was probably just lying wide open on your desk like it usually is." It's been like that a couple of times when I've been in there. She nodded understandingly. "Well, apparently, and I'm not saying it's true but I'm just curious, apparently it said something about you liking me." Her eyes widened as her cheeks turned a deep red. She bit her lip and looked up to me, giving me the answer to my question. My heart suddenly started to beat faster. I felt a joy more than any I had felt before. I found myself leaning in towards her and my hands finding her waist. Without even thinking about it, my lips lightly touched hers. She quickly pulled back, both of us were shocked. "Sorry, I just-" I was cut off by her arms swinging around my neck and dragging me in until our lips were attached once more.
Everything around us disappeared. The only things I could feel was the cold rain hitting my burning skin, my heart beating against my chest as if it were trying to escape and the lips of a goddess against my own. We soon parted and I had realised what I had done. I kissed her. Kaida. My best friend's little sister. Her eyes were still closed for a few seconds once we parted. She looked up at me with big, bright eyes. All the fears and worries about kissing her had left my body. I had a new fear now. What was that fear? Well....
I think I'm in love with my best friend's sister.
