Joshua's Pov:

Lunch: everyone's favourite part of school. Or pretty much everyone's favourite anyway. Kaida hates lunch, she loves learning stuff and studying. Little nerd. Like usual, she wasn't in the cafeteria. Unlike usual, neither was Levi. That was until around 20 minutes after we -- Jax, Aaron, Liam and me -- sat down to eat. 

"Why? Why would you do that?" My best friend came into the cafeteria chasing after his little sister, interrogating her.

"I didn't do anything!" She backed herself up. "Josh!" She whined as she stood at the end of our table. "Tell Levi that he's an idiot." She glared at him.

"Josh, babe," Levi pushed her out of the way. "Tell my sister she's a dumbass." He smiled sweetly.

"Lee, you're an idiot. Kai, you're a dumbass." I took a bite from my burger. "What's going on?" 

"Ew! Don't eat with your mouth full!" She cringed. "Anyway! I was in the library, studying, when Levi came in and-"

"She was with Pyers." Levi oh-so-rudely cut her off. 

"Brandon Pyers?" I repeated to make sure I knew who he was talking about. He nodded whilst Kaida looked between us, not seeing the clear problem. Pyers is an old friend, he used to be alright but... stuff happened, to put it simply. "Yeah, you're not hanging around with him. Ever." I smiled at her as Levi took his seat triumphantly.

"Why not?" She rolled her eyes.

"You just aren't. Now, go to your mates." I smiled at her and pushed her away. 

She mumbled something under her breath and walked to the table her two best mates were sitting on. Ava and Kyle, they're called. Kyle is the only guy -- that Levi's not mates with -- that he lets Kai hang around with. 

"Pyers?!" I turned to him with shock.

"She said he's 'nice' or something. I asked if she was actually insane and she got in a mood with me!" Okay, I see why she got in a mood with him. She still shouldn't be hanging around with him though. He's probably just talking to her to get to me and Lee! No offense to Kai, she's beautiful and amazing and kind and... anyway! Pyers isn't into girls like Kaida. He likes girls who are outgoing and will suck his dick whenever. Then again, you thought that was your type. That is my type. I don't like Kai like that.

"Hey, Josh." Jax broke me from my thoughts. His mousy brown, curly hair bouncing as he looked over to me. "Party this Saturday? My parents are in Spain for holiday and Sienna is sleeping out so..." Sienna is his 10 year old sister. She has a lot of friends so, one of her friends are probably having a 'party'. By 'party', I mean pizza, sweets and movies. I thought about Saturday but I couldn't go.

"My dad is going on a business trip for the weekend, I gotta babysit." I shrugged.

"Yawn." Aaron rolled his eyes. "Live a little! Get someone else to babysit." 

"No!" I shouted as if he just suggested to leave my baby sister at home alone. I'm not trusting anyone with Faith! Except maybe Kaida but she can't cook so that's a no. "I am gonna ask Kai to help though, that okay, Lee?" 

"Not like she's going to the party." He shoved a handful of chips in his mouth. True, true. Even if she wanted to, Levi and I wouldn't even think about letting her.

After school, Lee and I waited for Kai to come out of school. She normally takes 1 or 2 minutes longer since Ava and Kyle love to keep her back to talk and gossip.

"Little Dragon!" I smiled as she came out. Ah, the age old nickname. Reason? Simply the meaning of her name. Little is funnier to say though since she's tiny.

"Joshua." She bowed as if I were royalty. "Levi." She stated his name then walked, basically ignoring him.

"Ouch." He laughed. She smiled and rolled his eyes at him.

"So, on Saturday, can you help me babysit Faith please?"

"Why? So you can go to Jax's party?" She asked. You would think she was being cocky or she was pissed off but I don't think she actually cared.

"Nah, you're just better with kids." I shrugged. "If I were looking after her, I'd just slap on some Spongebob. I don't know how to look after a child."

"Okay, so I babysit and you cook, basically?" She asked and I nodded in response. "Sounds great! I'll be there!" She smiled.

"Thank you! You're amazing!" I hugged her. If I were anyone other guy (except maybe Jax or Kyle), Levi would have freaked. Luckily, he doesn't know that I have a massive crush on her and that everytime I hugged her, I wish I could do more. But I of course can't because Levi is my best friend since the day he was born, so is Kaida and Kaida is his little sister. He thinks I see her as a little sister too but, if I did, that would be some incest shit.

"I'm only doing it because I love Faith." She stuck her toungue out after pushing me away.

"Ouch, that really hurt." I put my hand to my heart as if I was genuinely hurt.

"You promise you aren't gonna leave me for the party?" We started walking again. I stuck my pinky out and smiled.

"Best friend pinky promise." It's childish, yes, but we've done it all our lives and, to Levi, Kai and me, it's the most sacred thing ever. She hooked her pinky with her own and we made our way home.
