High school seniors
POV: Pete

(yeah they're the same age in this btw)

This was the lamest party I'd ever been to.

It was my senior year in high school and this was supposed to be the biggest party that everyone looked forward to. I don't know how I ended up lounging on the couch, just watching everyone else have fun.

Honestly it was probably my own fault that I was so bored. I mean, it would be easy enough for me to get up and go socialize with people. But I didn't feel like moving. It was hard enough for me to drag myself all the way down to Joe's house anyway. The only reason I came is because we've been best friends since like... forever basically. Well, that and he said there would be hot girls here.

Yeah, he wasn't kidding about the hot girls. But none of them have actually stood out to me as much as this guy.

I hadn't seen him around school before, which was weird since I knew everyone from sophomore to senior year. I know for sure I would remember someone like him. His dirty blond hair reached to his shoulders, a sharp fringe poking out from beneath his cap. His sideburns stretched down further than most people's. Kinda resembled Elton John in a way. His skin was also a lot paler than most people my age.

All these features really stood out to me, but his eyes are what really caught my attention. Since he was across the room leaning against the wall, I couldn't really make out the color. But they were widened slightly and he was looking around with an awed look. Even from here, I could see them glimmering nervously as they darted from person to person. Virgin eyes as I liked to refer to them.

"Hey Pete!"

I snapped out of my thoughts as a guy plopped onto the couch beside me. I looked over at him, the corner of my mouth quirking up in amusement as I noticed his bloodshot eyes. I don't think Joe is ever sober.

"Joe, cool party," I said monotonously. Of course it was just a formality by now. He throws cool parties, I go and pretend to enjoy them. I could tell he didn't believe me, but he didn't press it. For that, I was grateful.

"Yeah, man. Sorry I didn't find you earlier, I was busy." I watched as his eyes darted over to find a cute blonde girl with similarly red-rimmed eyes. She caught us looking and gave a coy smile, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

She was pretty, but not in the way that I liked. On any other night, I probably would've fucked her. But for some reason, that new kid was still on my mind.

I glanced over at the wall to check on him, then noticed he was gone. I frowned slightly, but shrugged it off. It wouldn't be too hard to track him down later. Joe knew everyone here, so of course he would help.

"She's great, dude. I think her name's Ashlee. Yeah, I think you'd like her." Joe looked at me with a relaxed grin, leaning his head back against the couch. I nodded slowly, pretending to listen while actually looking around the crowded living room in search of that kid. "I mean, she asked me about you. Said you were a real looker. Asked for your name. Even asked me for your number, and obviously I wasn't gonna turn her down so..."

I just let him ramble on, knowing it would take awhile for him to finish one of his little rants. After a minute of just scanning the room, I sighed and sat up a little straighter. Immediately, Joe stopped talking and gave me an affronted look.

"Well sorry if I was boring you. Just thought you'd like to know." With that, he stood up and pushed through a few other kids. I raised a brow slightly, not in the mood to try and explain myself to him. I don't think he'd understand why I'm looking for some kid I've never met anyway.
