Chapter 1
DID you write about me, Mia?
My body jolted awake as I dreamt of his voice for the last I didn’t remember how many times. It’s been 2 years I haven’t seen his face since I moved out from that school. Just because of him, it’s been hard for few months after I moved, I had to lie to Cara that my parents forced me to study in New York. But we were still in contact though. Now, I’m finally graduated. I’d considered visit home last week but I decided stay New York for a few days.
The dream has been haunting me ever since I leave that place. I wish I shouldn’t have written about him in my notebook. I sighed as I rubbed my face with my palm and stood up from the bed, headed to the small kitchen. It’s still 4 am and Sun hasn’t rise yet. It’s perfect time for a run this morning though.

Covered with sweat after ran for 2 km, I chugged the whole water bottle when I arrived at my apartment.
“Looking pretty hot today, Mia,” Lila leaned on her door with her dark hazel hair messy like a nest and smudged mascara underneath her eyes. She must have been with someone last night because I’m pretty sure I heard a few creaking sound from her room.
“Hot date?” I raised my eyebrows at her.
“Yeah, you could say that,” She walked towards the kitchen and leaned his elbow on the dark blue marble counter. “how about you? Did you go out with Trey last night? How did it go?”
“Oh it was okay, he seems nice..”
“Just nice?”
Yes, just nice, though I have no interest in Trey at all. Few days before, Lila invited me to the club just 4 blocks away from our place and she introduced me few of her friends including Trey. Tall, leaned and quiet muscular with sexy short messy dirty blond hair. We talked and had a pretty good time, Trey did invite me to have a drink to his place but I declined and gave him my number instead.
“We just had dinner and movie then he took me home, what else do you want to hear?”
“So, no sex?”
I turned and smile at her, “I’m sorry but I’m not like other girls who have sex on their first date,” I turned back to the refrigerator and take out Cadbury’s chocolate bar.
“Too bad, I heard Trey is really good in bed, y’know?” Lila’s voice started to fade as she returned to her room.
There’s one thing she didn’t know about me, that I’m still a 23 years old-virgin and currently live in New York.
My phone beep reminding that I have a meeting with someone today. I ran towards my room and showered.
As I arrived on time at one of the cafe between the bookshop and record shop, I already spotted her sitting on the corner of the shop. I walked to her, with her back facing me, I gave a slight tap on her shoulder. She turned around and her jaw immediately dropped, “Oh my god! Mia!” Cara stood and hugged me tightly making me hard to breath. The last time I’ve seen her was a year ago when she visited her brother, Mike at Manhattan and decided to stopped by and have a drink with me. She had no idea about what happen between me and that professor. I casually changed subject and asked her about her current job.
“Oh how I miss you, Cara. How’s job?” I asked as I took my seat across her and grabbed the small laminated menu on the table. I scanned the menu and decided to order the café’s special sandwich and mango juice. Cara took a sip of her black coffee and flipped her long curly dark periwinkle hair to the side before she embarks about her amazing job as a professional hair stylist at her own hair studio. She told me about the one of the hottest celebrity once visited her studio. As my order arrived, Cara unintentionally opens a new topic that I don’t want to reminisce again.
