Julian Terhan
"Is everything okay?" Oceania asks me as she stepped into my office. I quickly tried to think of anything but the attack warning. I've been trying for days to make it as low key as possible so Oceania wouldn't notice. Not only her but more of the pack that isn't getting ready to fight.
Rio is gone.
He took the first flight back home. Okay, correction, he bullied the pilot and threatened his family over him. He's tried his best to keep me updated but it's hard for him which is understandable. "Yeah, of course," I mumbled off the lie, avoiding her precious beautiful eyes.
"You're lying to me," Oceania proudly stated with suspicion in her soft voice. Her eyes narrowed and she stepped closer, walking to where I was sitting behind the desk. "N-No, it's nothing," I brushed off uselessly.
"Rach told me about the attack," Oceania stated and I automatically faced palmed. My hands run through my hair before running down my face and I finally faced her again. "I would've found out eventually," she added. Which was true but that's why I also asked everyone to keep it on the low.
They did because she found out through her best friend, not through a loud conversation or something. "Of course," I muttered. I kept my eyes on Oceania's hand that was on my shoulder. "Why didn't you tell me? I'm confused," Oceania frowned with furrowed brows.
"We have it under control, everyone is prepared. Actually, they're prepared for the action. We can actually take down these rogues tonight-" I rambled off, accidentally spilling the date that we'd assume they're gonna attack. Stupidly, their recent attacks have been four days apart.
"Tonight. That's so soon!" She gasped, her eyes running over everything around us. "If you're rejected then how would the spells work?" Oceania continued to ask. "We don't need the witches. The warriors would guard the borders and others will fight with me-" I began when Oceania interrupted.
"Fight with you? That's crazy. This is all too sudden and the warriors aren't going to be enough. Knight Loners destroy and demolish packs, you're making a mistake," Oceania continues to insist that I was going about this wrong. She's right but I'm not making a mistake.
"I have it under control, Oceania."
"Then again...you can't do the spells without your mate. Rejection eliminates using magic for your pack," Oceania slowly realized more from the false truth. "Something like that," I huffed. I knew that I could tell her but she deserves more than to find out like this.
"You're making a mistake," Oceania bluntly spoke. "Then what do you want me to do!" I finally shout louder than I have ever at her. Oceania froze visibly, Rin growled at me over and over. "I don't know..." she whispers and kept her eyes on her hands.
"Exactly. I don't understand why you're acting like this when this pack was shit to you before," I spat. Why would she care about them? "That doesn't mean that they should be badly protected!" Oceania continues to defend them.
"I'm trying my best," I lied.
With that, Oceania's reply was a short nod before she stormed out of the office. That's when my brutal words replayed in my head and I realized that I fucked up.

The nine o clock mark wore proudly on the clock in the kitchen. The pack was on lockdown mode. When the rogues approached the pack with their fire, everyone was panicked but remained headstrong and did what they had to do. I remained at the golden level with a lot of others who weren't prepared for today.
I hear their calls for backup, I hear people shouting at Julian to do the spell. I feel the panic in my heart, I feel useless. The phone beside me rings and I answered without looking at the caller.
"What the fuck is going on? Are you okay?" Dixon blurts out into the phone. I took another sip of the wine that makes the cup empty. "Knight Loners," I simply say and the line goes quiet.
"Shit. We have to go help, Julian. Where are you?" Dixon finally mumbled. That makes me spark up. Dixon hates all werewolves beside his mother. "Safe. Julian is not," I huffed, my fingernails tapping like magic against the marble.
"We're on our way! Stay where you are!" Dixon shouts into the phone and I hear Addison screaming in the background before Dixon abruptly ended the phone call. "Just great," I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair while my eyes remained on the door.
Mom was locked in her room and Rachel was locked in hers. She's convinced that she's ready to give birth but she has around a month and two weeks again. They need help. They're not going to fight them off enough so they don't get into the pack. We're the damn Blood of Gold pack. No surprise, the strongest and most known pack existing, every generation proves this point more.
And now, Julian is acting like a coward. He wouldn't accept the witches' help. I'm sure they could do anything. Yes, the warriors are freaking strong, I'm amazed at when watching them train sometimes but is it enough? Clearly not since it's been an hour and there hasn't been any news.
I groan and finally pushed off the chair as I made my way out the door and into the elevator. This is the only elevator that's working so I'd have to run down the stairs to make it to the ground level. That would be seconds using my vampire speed.
I made it down and the scent of fire hits my nose first. This makes me worried and I don't hesitate to run into the forest. Of course, the person running from the right stops me. My lips parted in shock and I ran to him, happy to see he's still in one piece.
"Oh thank goddess," Julian says in one breath before pulling me to his chest and wrapping his arms protectively around me. "What's going on?" I asked and scanned his body only to see a couple of scrapes on his face and the shorts he wore was slightly torn. This lets me know that Rin was out to play. "I need your blood," Julian blurted out.
"What?" I asked confused and our attention hurts to Addison and Dixon who had blood running down their hands, dripping from their fingertips. "It doesn't matter, just, please. Let's go inside and do this," Julian ignored and turns to the girl who was running with him. By the pointed ears and purple eyes, I knew she was a witch.
"What's going on? Why do you need-" I began to obliviously question when Addison got sick of my stupidness.
"Because you're damn mates! Now do the fricken spell!" Addison screams.
