Grinning, I handed my mother the envelopes with the two tickets I side of them

Grinning, I handed my mother the envelopes with the two tickets I side of them. "Open it," I ordered her, not able to wipe the smile off my face. "What's this?" My mother asked, she was confused but was figuring it out as she read the small paper over and over. "I made an appointment for us to go to the spa on Friday and you cannot say no because I already paid for it," I grinned, feeling proud.

While I was coming home from work today I stopped by the spa to make the appointments. Hopefully, I can start to make our relationship better again. "What?...why?" She asked, letting out her breath. "Because we deserve it, mom. Is that a problem?" I asked her, daring her to say that it is a problem. "No, no, of course, not," she corrected herself quickly, looking at me and then back at the paper. "Very good," I smiled.

"I swear I don't deserve you," my mother's voice cracked as her eyes began watering. I bolt across the table and wrapped my arms around her. "It's the other way around actually. You're the best mother ever and you need to know that," I whispered the words I always thought to say to her.

"Thank you, Ocean," she whispered, kissing my hand and in return, I kissed the top of her head. "You don't have to thank me," I assure her before walking back to my chair.

My heart started beating rapidly. So loud and fast that it could have been heard through my ears. My vision darkened and I felt as if a thousand people were staring at me, it felt blurry and it kept blurring and then clearing like a pulse. My head felt light headed, spinning in circles. My hands felt like I couldn't control them as if they were completely out of my control.

"Mom," I called for her, trying to get help. I wanted to scream for help but I couldn't control my normal abilities. My veins felt dry. It was complicated to explain but the veins in hands felt as if they were being tugged apart, threatening to burst.

"Honey, oh dear," I hear my mother faintly say, I look around to see she was at my side yet I could barely hear her.

Focus, Oceania.

"Wine bottle," I repeated over and over hoping she would once hear me. I watch as she bolted off the ground where I was sitting and into the kitchen. My mother roughly opened the fridge and grabbed the bottle, not even bothering to close it as she rushed to hand me it.

Thank God she already took the cap off and all I had to do was shot the warm and thirst quenching liquid down my throat. When I found myself regaining back my body and the headaches went away, I pushed the bottle away. I was completely disgusted with myself. "Honey," my mother whispered, combing my hair with her flat hand down my back. "I want to be alone," I whispered, pushing myself off the ground and walking into the bathroom.

"I-I need to see her," I tell her mother. She stares at me, probably deciding what to do but thankfully she opened the door and let me in. "Be quiet, she is asleep," she whispered as we walked through the house. Their apartment was small and cozy and even though it wasn't the richest one in the world, it seemed like it was filled with love and memories. Another thing I noticed was that there was record vinyl everywhere.

My mate likes songs on the record player?

The door creaked open and I stared in awe at the beautiful angel sleeping as nothing mattered around her on the small bed in the corner of the room. Quietly, I made my way to her just to look at her fine features up close. She was resting on her side, her hands under the pillow and the blanket covered her everywhere from her shoulders go down. Her brown curls were scattered around the pillow but the strands that covered her closed eyes caught my eyes. Being stealthy, I brought my fingers to her forehead and cheek as I pushed the hair away. Her lips tugged into a smile before returning to its at rest position.

She is utterly beautiful.

"Safe," Rin, my wolf, whispered and I agreed with him, glancing at the angel one last time before walking out of her room. "She was hurt," I stated, remembering the pain in my chest and the angry cries of Rin not too long ago. Zara shifted uncomfortably, looking everywhere but at me. "She works out sometimes after work, she probably tripped or something," her mother shrugged looking weary as our eyes met for a second.

"Oh okay, I guess I'll go. Don't tell her about this yeah?" I politely asked even though we both know it was an order. "Of course," she agreed before walking to the door and opening the door. "Good night, Julian," she nods her head as I walked through the door frame.

"Good night, Zara."
