Chapter 1 (Diamond)

The alarm clock hits 5:45 am with its annoying beeping. I roll over groggy and hit it hard enough it flys off my night stand and rips out of the wall. I push the covers off me in the process of sitting up and swinging my legs off the bed.
I kick the alarm clock and its cord under my bed and stretch back. My spine pops and cracks all the way up and I yawn. I open my room door and quietly walk down the dark hallway. I push the bathroom door open and slip in turning on the light. The door shuts and clicks closed.
I turn the water on and splash it on my face. The cold water perks me up a little, I grab my tooth brush and dunk it under the water coming from the fosset. I put the disgusting mint toothpaste on it and began to brush my teeth.
I gag every time the bubbly foam of mint touches my tongue. I've always hated brushing my teeth, the taste sickens me. I spit into the sink and put water in my mouth. I swish the water in my mouth and spit again then wipe my mouth with a rag.
I wet the rag as i undress. I put soap on the rag and rub it in, i run the rag over my skin and wash up completely. I throw on a black t-shirt with skin tight jeans, and put a dark line of black eyeliner on and make a cat eye.
I smile at myself as i fix my hair and walk out of the bathroom into the now lit hallway. dads up. Great, i walk down the hall to the steps and i walk them slowly. My brother walks out the door with his board and my father behind him with his work uniform on. I grab my jacket and key walking to the door. I exit the house locking the door and walk down the driveway the cool early morning wind whipping my hair around. The street is quiet and dark; the street has no street lamps. The only light comes from the sun peaking over the horizon.
I live about a mile from school so the walk is fairly short. I walk to the school grounds, its abandoned like every morning.
The school is always warm inside and not really crowded. most kids at my school are junkies or drug attics with alcohol problems. I walk down the warm hallway, the schools plain, grey walls black tiled floors. Nothing much happens here and no ones really strict or cares much.
I walk into class and its pretty much empty except for Jozlynn and Jacklyn. The advance class consist of seven kids but only 3 of us show up, the class is pretty simple you show up, do the work, turn it in and you get a good grade.
Our teacher is probably one of the chillest teachers in the whole school. being the last day of school we get to spend the day in first period or just leave.
I walk to the back of the room where jozlynn and jacklyn sit and i sit between them. Jozlynns reading fanfictions on her phone as usual and jacklynn is eating Oreos out of a bag in her backpack. When i sit down jacklyn hands me a broken Oreo, shes never been one to share well. The other piece goes to jozlynn and we both munch down at the same time. The oreos the only thing ill eat till i get home later today.
Jacklyn stands up and pulls us to our feet, "come on lets go cause trouble." jacklyn has always been the more excited of the three of us. she pulls us out by our arms and into the dark hallway. We all hook arms and walk to the door where the outside light of the sun is warm and bright.
The sunlight burns onto my face and the cool wind brushes the heat away. Its wonderful outside, we make our way up the hill behind the school. the hill is steep on the other side and drops into a field of beautiful wild flowers and tall grass. Over looking the field it looks small but I've been lost in it one two many times before. I smile as jacklyn sits down.
"Come on guys lets roll down," jacklyn says patting the grass beside her.
Me and Jozlynn both sit down.
"You first jacklyn you thought of the idea," i say pushing her forward gently.
"Alright fine," she smiles scooting forward, laying down on her side, and she starts rolling fast. Her screams and laughter filling the air. Jacklyn hits the bottom and rolls into the grass and she waves at one of us to go next.
Jozlynn being the next for everything scoots her body forward and lays on her side.
"Good Luck," I scream at her as her body flys down the hill. she rolls and rolls her red hair glowing in the sunlight. jozlynn's body rolls into the grass farther then jacklyns did but she crawls to jacklyns side. My turn wonderful. I lay back and turn onto my side, I've never been this scared before. My heart is pounding out of my chest and i begin to believe i have a heart attack but i tip my body over the edge. I start rolling down the hill; and i can feel my speed increasing fast and the wind swirling all around me avoiding my body. My body jolts against the ground with every roll and i feel the evening out of the ground now. i roll straight into the high grass and laugh breathing hard. i pick my shaky body up the world spinning around me, jacklyn and jozlynn grab my arm steadying me.
"Thanks guys," i smile and give them both a hug.
"Hey guys, how about we go to my house and watch a movie.. we haven't done that in forever and something days."
They both nod in agreement and we start running through the field of grass and wild flowers. Our laughs fill the air as we run. Were close enough to know where we all are and we run straight into the concrete, the smell of gas, and the sounds of animals. My house isn't far from the "Welcome to Mahogany Ville" sign. Every time i see the sign i want to just beat it down. Its such a ugly brown eye sore surrounded by beautiful fields.
We walk up the street to my house, once again we look like a group of friends heading somewhere to hang out. I've missed this the most since my mom passed.
