Chapter 7

Diamond~
Its early morning and the house is quiet except for dexters rumbling in the kitchen for food.

I come into the living room and plop down on the couch. the tv remote is in its usual place, the side table. i pick it up and turn on the tv, the news boring. i start to type in the channel for Nickelodeon but the news story catches me.

'Head Cop Fatally Injured In Car Chase.' oh my god it cant be.

"The cop has been identified as officer Storm, he is now being rushed to Mahogany Hospital. Our suspect..."

I didn't even wait to hear the rest i was up grabbing my shoes.

"Dexter grab your keys hurry please," i said through tears.

He grabs his keys and we rush to the car. its cold on the inside but i don't care we need to get there. Dexter pulls out of the driveway and i keep telling him to hurry.

*30 minutes later now arriving at the hospital*

I jump out of the car and sprint to the hospital entrance. dexter isn't to far behind but i still make it in before him.

I jump to the lady at the desk, "where is Daniel Storm?"

"Um ma'am i cant tell you that."

"Im his daughter Skeie Storm, now where is he."

"Well Skeie your father was rushed into surgery."

I sink to the floor and put my head in my knees. a few seconds later dexter is wrapping his arms around me, telling me it's gonna be ok.

If my dad dies then ill be with dexter and my brother can have our house now, but it wont be the same. ill be safer and not abused but both my parents will be dead.

"Ill be back dexter i need to use the restroom," i get up pushing his hands off me.

"Ok Sweetie ill be here."

I rush to the bathroom and enter it. its cold in here and quiet, the tiles click under my shoes. i head to the back stall and sit on the toilet, i dig in my pocket for my razor.

I find it and pull it out. i wrap it in a cloth to hide it better in my pocket and so i don't cut my hand getting it out. I unwrap my razor and hold it in my hand. on three Diamond...

A knock hits the door and dexter voices comes after, "baby are you ok."

"Yeah I'm fine I'm coming."

I set the razor in the toilet and flush it down. i just did something i never thought i could do, i threw away my razor....wow.

I open the bathroom door and walk out to Dexter. His smile brings a small one to my face and he grabs my hand. He is who i want.

*in the operating room during emergency surgery to save Daniel's life. Daniel dies of loss of blood, Cardiac Arrest, and the impalement of broken glass and other things such as metal and bone fractures (hernias). after doing what is needed with the body until further preparation the doctor walks out to the waiting room to a frantic Diamond.

"Mrs. Storm?"

"Yes, where is he? Is he ok?"

"Mrs. Storm I'm sorry to tell you but your father did not make it."*

I fall limp into dexters arms. looking stunned as ever, i never thought he would die. like i knew my dad would die sooner or later but not like this, you just don't expect someone to die you expect life to go on. you get to comfortable, your whole world is one and complete but then there gone and everything shatters in your face.

Dexter~

Tonight is cold as we drive home is quiet in the car. very quiet. i reach my hand over and she grabs it instantly.

I give her a small smile and she looks down. i pull into the driveway and shut the car off. i want to make her happy. i get out of the car walk around and open her door, i reach in and pull her out holding her close to me.

I walk up the steps and open my door walking in. shes limp in my arms meaning shes pretty much starting to fall asleep.i walk to the bedroom ad lay her down on the bed.

I lay down beside her, shes fallen asleep. i hold her close to me. shes not sleeping horribly but shes a little shaky, but i don't blame her.

"I love you Kitten, imma make you mine one day baby. hopefully soon you make me so happy baby."

I pet her head and kiss her cheek then rest my lips on her neck. slowly i begin to fall asleep.
