* "He began to lean closer to me, our lips almost touching" *
I woke up to a soft knocking on my door. I stumbled in the dark, careful not to wake Pansy up and felt for the door knob. I cracked the door open and peeked out. "Draco?" I whispered. He was standing there in white and green striped pyjamas, his hair slightly messy. "Y/N" he said. I looked him up and down, "What are you doing here? It's the middle of the night!" "I came to see you. Put on your slippers, we're going." He whispered. "Where are we going?" I questioned him. He shook his head, as we heard Pansy stir. "Okay, fine. Give me a second." I said.
I carefully tiptoed around the room, struggling not to wake Pansy. I slipped my nightgown on and slid on my favourite pair of slippers. I crept out of the room and shut the door behind me. "Where are you taking me, Draco?" I asked. He wrapped his cold hand around my wrist, sending chills up my spine. "You'll see when we get there." He whispered.
We strolled through the dimly lit corridors, our footsteps echoing as we whispered to each other. "So.. what's up with you and Pansy?" I asked. "Nothing." He replied, bluntly. "She seems pretty possessive over you." I said, trying to pry some information out of him. He turned to me quickly and looked me in the eyes. "Listen Y/N, I know I said we could be friends, but I'm a private man, understand?" I stared into his cloudy, gray eyes and nodded. We walked in silence until we reached the suspension bridge. "Draco" I began, but he shot me a look that quietened me. "We're almost there." He said.
We crossed the suspension bridge and entered the astronomy tower. It was a long climb up the wooden staircase, but we eventually made it. "Wow.." I quietly said. Draco nodded and walked to the edge of the railing. I slowly followed, placing my hands on the cold metal as I stared up at the starry night sky. "This is where I come when I want to be alone" he said. As I looked over at him, I noticed he looked rather distant. We sat in silence, for what seemed like hours. However, it wasn't an awkward silence but rather a comfortable one. I decided to try my luck once more in discovering more about his relationship with Pansy.
"Draco" I said. He looked over at me, expectantly, "Hm?" I took a deep breath "About you and Pansy." He rolled his eyes and began to walk away. "Draco.." I reached out to grab his hand but he snatched it away from me. "Draco please, I'm sorry!" I said. "Why can't you just mind your own business Y/N!?" he yelled. I felt tears pricking my eyes and tried to blink them back, but a few managed to escape. "Oh for god's sake!" He growled. My voice began to crack and more tears fell down my cheeks "I-I'm sorry.." I said. He shook his head and began walking towards the wooden staircase.
I followed him, pleading the entire time. As we reached the top of the staircase he spun around and grabbed my waist. "Y/N.." he began. I looked at him, my vision blurring from crying. He began to lean in closer to me, our lips almost touching. "I'm sorry Draco.." I whispered. He shook his head and let me go. "Goodnight Y/N." He turned around and started walking down the long stairway. I collapsed in a crying heap on the floor, and began to drift asleep.
