Just Friends

Chapter 5

* "I dare you.. to kiss Draco" *

"Y/N! I know you didn't get much sleep last night, but Professor Trewlany will bloody Avada Kedavra you!" I looked up at my friend, Lilith Bitterwood. We met in Divination class, and quickly became friends. I lifted my head and mumbled "I don't wanna wake up yet." After last nights events, I woke up in the Slytherin dorm, late to class. I had to rush to Divination, just as the class began.

"Y/N.. you have Astronomy next." Lilith said. 'Oh god..'  I thought. I share that class with- "Draco?" I heard someone say. Me and Lilith looked up simultaneously. There he was, standing in the door way. His platinum blonde hair, falling perfectly over his eyes. "I've been told to sit in this class for observation." He said, an annoyed look on his face. "Very well." Professor Trewlany said. "You can sit next to Ms. Y/L/N and Ms. Bitterwood."

After a long, awkward lesson, I made my way towards the Astronomy tower. It had looked so different during the nighttime. I began to zone out, daydreaming of his pale face in the moonlight. "Ms. Y/L/N! I trust you are paying attention in my class?" Professor Sinistra called on me. I felt my cheeks glowing red, as I realised all eyes were on me. "Um, yes Professor." I said. I glanced over at Draco, who was watching me intently. I couldn't help but wonder whether he was thinking about last night. Would he have kissed me if I hadn't brought up Pansy?

"Okay class, time to get into pairs. Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley, Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini, Draco Malfoy and Y/F/N." Of course I was placed with Draco. Just my luck. I joined him at the railings, both of us silent. "It looks different during the day doesn't it?" He whispered, breaking the silence. I nodded quietly "So, what's this assignment?" "We need to write about Jupiter's moons." He replied. He looked at me, then down at the railing, where his ring-clad fingers were wrapped around it tightly. "Well, stop by the Slytherin common room after dinnertime. We can study then." He said.

When I got back to my dorm, I began getting ready. I decided to use Crinus Muto to do my hair while I put on makeup. "Where are you going?" Pansy asked. I rolled my eyes at her, "Studying. With Draco" I replied. "What!?" she exclaimed "How dare you? You bitch!" She jumped off her bed and grabbed my hair, pulling it hard. "Let go! Let go!" I screamed. I reached over to the desk and managed to grab my wand. "Relashio!" I said. Pansy let go and we both fell in a heap on the floor. Suddenly, she lunged at me. "Pansy! Me and Draco are studying!" I pushed her off me and stood up. "You're ridiculous." I said as I walked by her.

I walked into the Slytherin common room and sat on the black leather couch. I smoothed out my skirt and robes and sat patiently. When I heard the door room open, I jumped. I turned around and saw Draco standing there, Crabbe and Goyle on either side of him. "Oh. I wasn't expecting Crabbe and Goyle to be here." I said, flatly. Draco looked apologetic for a second but his demeanor changed, as he remembered his friends were there.

"Hello Y/N!" Crabbe said. I had noticed he was the friendliest of the lot. He sat down next to me and Goyle sat on the armchair. I noticed Draco glare at Crabbe and he scrambled to stand up. Draco shouldered him out of the way and sat next to me. "So, Jupiters moons. Where should we start?" I asked. "Well, maybe we should get to know each other a bit more first. I mean, you are new after all Y/N." Draco said. Crabbe and Goyle both nodded in agreement. "Okay, I suppose we can. But afterwards, we need to work on this essay!" I said. "Great. How about some truth or dare?" We all nodded and began to play.

After a couple of rounds, I learned that Draco's first kiss was Pansy, Goyle had a crush on Hermione Granger, and Crabbe had his hair changed pink with a spell in first year. "Okay Y/N. Truth or dare?" Goyle asked. I pondered for a second. "Dare" "I dare you.. to kiss Draco." Crabbe laughed and Draco draped his arm around my shoulders. I blushed as I avoided eye contact with him. "Very well." I looked up at Draco, who had a smirk on his face. I grabbed his chin, leaned in and- "Y/F/N!" We all turned to see a gaggle of Slytherin girls standing there, Lilith leading the pack.

"Oh! Hi Lilith!" I stood up quickly. All the girls started giggling as Draco stood up next to me. "Lilith, I can explain!" I said. "Me and you need to talk Y/N!" She grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the room. I managed to wave at Draco just before we left.

"What was that about Y/N!?" she exclaimed. "It was a dare! We were studying and-" I was cut off by Lilith putting her hand over my mouth. "Y/N. He hurt you. And if he hurts you one more time I swear I will Avada Kedavra him faster than he can say Bitterwood!" I sighed and shook my head. "I'll be fine Lilith." "Promise?" "I promise."
