"But I brought you breakfast in bed!" Ayo grumbled and pouted. "It's only fair."

"Yea, and what's so special about that?" I sipped my tea and wiped the back of my mouth with my hand.

He pulled at my legs again and whined. "You are so so special and, and stop glaring at me like that..." I kept a passive face. "And I had to make you breakfast. I strolled to the bakery to get a fresh loaf, I fried the eggs too, and made you steamy hot tea."

"Okay," I gestured for him to continue. "And what else?"

"So funny story, when I was preparing the first set of eggs that I fried," my eyes widened and he quickly continued. "The shell broke into it when I cracked it into the bowl, I guess it was a soft egg so I just washed that out after unsuccessfully trying to get them out.

Then I tried making new ones, and these were hard because they cracked just fine into the bowls. Then the worst part, the onions. I full on bawled for ten minutes because the onions were cute and I couldn't just not cry. So yes, I went through all of that and cried for the onion before I brought you breakfast."

"I thought you knew how to cook?" I raised a brow.

"Yes I do. It was just one of those days." He nodded.

"Obviously, because the egg was soft and the onion was too cute." I nodded too fast.

"Trust me Fey, that's what happened." He kept a straight face.

My heart beat faster and I focused on my food. I could almost tell that Ayo noticed how quickly my mood had changed. He's always been the one to notice my moods and understand me even when I don't talk. Like right now, I just hope that, for once, he wouldn't read me correct.

"Tea, is everything okay?" He pulled himself beside me and held my hand.

"Yes," I choked out, when in fact all I wanted was for him to drop my hand. Or did I?

"Okay then," he rubbed my back and I relaxed. "You know you could always talk to me right?" His brows pinched.

I nodded and chewed my food slowly. All these tingles running up and around me shook me, and I pushed my plate towards Ayo. "Here, finish it."

"In as much as I want to eat the rest of this, don't you think it could have been better if you had just allowed for us to eat together from the beginning?"

Ya, and have me choke every few seconds and my heart beat me into a hypertension? We'll literally be sipping from the same mug. But that shouldn't be alien to you, should it Fey?

Okay, right after Ayo leaves, I've got to get my emotions and head in check.

"So how are we spending the rest of our day?" Ayo asks once he finished eating.

"I was thinking sleeping or Netflix." I shrugged and picked up the bread crumbs from my bed.

"Is that code for Netflix and chill?" He smirked. And I obviously died.

"Get your mind out of the gutter Ay, literally get it out of there. Since when did friends Netflix and chill?" I rolled my eyes.

He grinned. "Since forever. I mean don't best friends usually end up getting married?" He winked.

"Um yeah, in some few people." Was he... insinuating something?

"We're off to a great start then." He settled underneath the covers and tugged me towards him.

I turned on the TV and scrolled through the movies till I settled on Work It, the dance movie featuring Liza Koshy and Sabrina Carpenter. I turned to Ayo and he nodded. I pressed play and turned off my lights from the switch beside me.
