the days passed and sooner or later it was phoebe's birthday. mira and evie were at mira's house in her living room blowing balloons for the surprise party tonight. the house was almost fully decorated with sage and white decorations, streamers and balloons everywhere.

evie lied down on the couch and huffed, "how many more of these do we have to do? this isn't good for my asthma you know."

"you don't have asthma eves." mira laughed, "but don't worry we got some help on the way." the blonde followed her into the kitchen where the array of drinks were displayed next to the variety of chips and dips.

"help? like who?"

as if right on cue, the doorbell rang and the two walked over to the foyer. mira opened the front door to the 3 boys on her front step. "this is who. evie, say hello to the help."

"hi help." she waved at the three boys, even if she did know all their names.

the three of them walked into the house and waved back at the girls, "hi to you too evie." corbyn laughed. "so how can we help? jonah and daniel are coming a little later if that's alright."

"all good, we have almost everything done except-"

"balloons!" evie yelled from the living room, "i don't care if we have other priorities, but i cannot blow these anymore or else i'm gonna die."

everyone laughed at the overdramatic girl who was surrounded in a pool of periwinkle and white balloons, "i'll go help her." corbyn offered as he walked over to the living room.

zach decided to help mira with bringing out the food, leaving jack with no job. "so anything i'm needed for?"

"actually yes." evie looked over to the younger girl, the two trading looks. "do you think you can keep phoebe out of the house?" mira asked him.

jack nodded his head and grabbed his keys, "yeah sure. where is she right now?"

"uh los angeles community hospital." mira's voice was quieter as she felt all eyes on her.

the boys exchanged confused and concerned looks at each other while evie and mira weren't too sure what to say. "why is she-"

"just don't question it." evie stopped zach. "and don't ask her anything about it when you get there, just wait for her at the gate."

"alright alright, i got it. i'm her chauffer for the night." mira thanked jack before he went back into his car and drove the direction of lach. he didn't need directions there, nearly everyone knew where it was. he arrived there in roughly 15 minutes despite the crazy la traffic. the first thing he saw was phoebe standing in front of the main entrance.

she was wearing jack's jacket again from new year's eve and matched it with black nike sweats and her air force 1's. she looked at the car that pulled up in front of her, seeing the window roll down.

"you're not evie." phoebe laughed, seeing the brunette boy in the driver's seat. she got in the car and tossed her bag in the backseat, buckling in her seatbelt as jack started to drive away. "so let me guess, you're my birthday chauffer for the night to stall me 'til it's time for me to go to somebody's house for my surprise party."

jack glanced at the girl next to him, "um maybe? how'd you even come up with that?" he asked while laughing a little. he kept driving onto the highway, unsure of where exactly they'd be going.

"it's not really a surprise party if they do it every year." phoebe laughed, "besides, birthdays are overrated anyways."

"you really think that?"
