"how do i always end up in jail." evie whined, moving her silver cat to the jail space on the board.

"you're just visiting." mira told her. the boys laughed as they remembered an almost identical scenario happening when they played monopoly before.

they were all in teams since there weren't enough pieces for everyone to have their own. the teams were; jack and phoebe, mira and zach, nezza and franny, daniel and corbyn, jonah and evie, crawford and christian.

chritford's team was winning with the most property so far, only 'cause christian is very competitive when it came to any game. he carried the team for the most part. daniel and corbyn were a close second, the two teams were neck and neck for the whole game.

jack, phoebe, evie, and jonah were the runner ups throughout the game. jonah carried his team most of the time, but there'd be a few rare moments where evie would get a lot of money and deals for them. jack and phoebe knew what they were doing, but also didn't pay attention most of the time since they were distracted by their own random conversations.

zira and frezza tried playing the game, but 90% of the time got confused as to what was going on. franny and nezza kept laughing at every little thing too, which only made the others laugh along with them. mira kind of knew what she was doing, but most of the time she was just as confused as zach.

by the end of the game, it was only christian, crawf, daniel, and corbyn playing to see who'll win. no one really established what the winners would get, but they were all more than determined to claim bragging rights or whatever they'd be getting.

"yo who's picking up dinner?" daniel asked, getting the notification their food was ready on his phone.

"we can go." jack offered, motioning to him and phoebe. evie, mira, and zach traded looks to each other.

daniel sent him the order confirmation to jack and dapped him up, "okay have fun."

"bye guys." the two waved goodbye to the group.

their friends called out from inside as they walked out the front door.

"drive safe!"

"love you!"

jack and phoebe got into his car and fastened their seatbelts as jack backed out of the seavey's driveway. they've all been hanging out as a group more often, whether it be going to someone's house or meeting somewhere for a hike or at a restaurant.

tonight was the night she planned on telling him everything. she hoped that once she told jack, it'd be easier to tell everyone else if she had him on her side. it was the reason she was so distant with the group during their game night, since her mind was somewhere far away from them.

on the way to the restaurant, they played their playlist they made one day when they were bored and sang the lyrics at the top of their lungs. it was the same rush of adrenaline and happiness phoebe felt when she hung out with jack. the same innocent joy kids had when they played with their friends. it was like time froze and she felt like she could breathe freely.

the car stopped as jack parked by the curb, the two getting out of the car and into the busy restaurant.

"order for daniel." jack told the front desk, who told them the food would be out in a bit.

from a couple feet away hollered a girl with light red hair, a smile plastered on her face, "phoebe?"

her body froze immediately with her hands glued to the counter, she recognized that voice from anywhere. both phoebe and jack turned around to see the redhead walking towards them.
