Part 3: Expo Regional Competition

It has been three weeks now since we have been told about the Science Expo competition.

I went to Mam Blue to tell  her about my idea,my idea was to create a double switch kettle.

The first switch is for hot water and the second switch is for lukewarm water. Well.. You're probably thinking why on earth would i want to invent that, the reason is that I think kettles need to be innovated, a lot of apppliaces are being innovated but kettles are not.

I've realised that sometimes when we plug water in a kettles it does not necessarily mean that we need Hot water but sometimes we need luke warm water.

The problem is that when you're in need of the Luke warm water you literally have to wait for the water to cool off...

I am sure you can see Where I am going with my idea.

So finally today is the day of the competition and I belive that I am going to blow the judges minds when i explain my idea..i really cant wait.

When we arrived at the competition my heart started beating really fast but i just prepared my work.
Finally the judges came to review and judge my work and they were really amazed by my idea.

So when the judges were finished with all the young sciencentists (That's what we were called) it was time for results meaning award time.

They firstly started with the bronze medal winners, My name did not appear, and they called the silver medal winners and my name appeared and what i find surprising is that I was the only black learner on the group.

I was really proud of myself because I've represented my school very well.

Now all groups were called including the Gold medals group.The competition was now over but winners had to prepare for the regional competition.

Well.. I was really excited so i headed home to Mom Adelaide to show her my medal and she was really proud of me.

So when I got home I found Mom Adelaide cooking ...You could have seen her face when she saw me wearng my medal ,she was really proud and ....she even cried how adorable.What i like about her tears is that they were the tears of joy.We all sat down and I told her how it went then I changed my school uniform since it was very late.I then took a hot shower and got into bed.
