~Maria's POV~

It was Christmas Day. All of us opened our presents. But still no, Carlos and Zayn. I was sitting on the couch when a knock was on the door.

"I'll get it." Elizabeth said. When Elizabeth opened the door, she screamed, "Daddy!"

Natalia and Zayn's mother got up and ran to the door.

"Zayn!" They yelled.

Zayn entered the house, he was smiling and crying. Happiness in him.

"Where's Carlos?" Natalia asked. "Where's my baby?"

Carlos popped out from Zayn, he smiled. "Hi mum."

"Oh my baby! Oh gosh!" She cried, and hugged him. After all the hugs and kisses Carlos walked over to me.

I don't know if I was dreaming or this was real.

"Is this real..?" I asked, as a tear was streaming down my face.

"Yes baby, it's real." Carlos chuckled.

I touched his face, my mouth but no words came out. I stroked his face and a little sob left my lips.

"Merry Christmas, babe." Carlos smiled and kissed me. I kissed him back and hugged him.

Carlos gave me a necklace. It had angel wings and it said, "I Love You". I smiled.

"Carlos, it's beautiful." I said.

"Let me put it on you." He said. I turned around and grabbed my hair. "Got it."

I turned around again and looked at the necklace.

"It looks beautiful on you." Carlos said. "I Love You, Maria."

"I Love You, Carlos." I said, back.

It was in the late afternoon, everyone was in their own little worlds. Zayn's mother was cooking dinner. Me and Carlos were sitting near the fireplace.

"I wanted to get you something for Christmas but the stores were so crowded." I said, playing with Carlos' fingers.

"I already have a Christmas present." Carlos said.

"What is it?" I asked.

"You." He said, kissing my head.

I blushed and cuddled into Carlos' warmth. His arms wrapping around me.

"I was thinking about you, when I was fighting." Carlos said.

"You were?" I asked.

"Yup. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to come home for Christmas." He said. "I thought I was going to die at one time. But my dad helped me get through, told me to never give up, that we were going to fight and get home. He was hard on me but I got through and now I'm here."

"I'm glad." I said, holding him tightly.

"Baby, I'm not going anywhere." Carlos said, holding me.

After the night was over, everyone went to bed but me and Carlos. We stayed up all night, spending time with each other.

"Don't you want to sleep?" We heard a deep and tired voice.

It was Zayn, leaning on the door frame. His hair was a mess, no shirt, he had sweats, and his eyes showing his tiredness.

"Not really." Carlos said. I shook my head and smiled.

"It's 3:00 a.m. In the damn morning, hush." Zayn said, walking away.

Carlos chuckled and laid down. Carlos pulled me down with him, making me giggle.

"So are you going to tell your friends about you and your dad went to the military?" I asked.

"Nah, their always up my ass. They don't need to know." Carlos said.

"Well then." I laughed.

"Because, I'm popular and stuff and they like to be in my business. I tell them off all the time." Carlos said.

"Yeah, some of my friends are like that too." I said.

"We can tell them off together." Carlos laughed.

I giggled as Carlos hugged my small waist. Carlos nuzzled his head in my stomach. "I love you."

"I love you too." I said, playing with his hair.
