~Carlos' POV~
Last night grandmum was telling dad that back in England they need more soldiers for the next war, yeah it's too soon but things are getting out hand with the Russians. Dad said he would join and I did too but one weird thing was..mum didn't say no. Is she really going to let me do this?
We were home sitting in the living room. My dad wanted to talk to me about going to in the military. How fast I need to think and don't do anything stupid.
"You have to think fast." My dad said, snapping his fingers. "If you get shot, get up and fight. Other wise you'll die. When I was shot for the first time, it hurt like shit but I had to keep moving. When you make friends...you have to stick together. Well..that's what I did. 2 lived and 2 died. If I was you, I would take it by heart like I did because it will hurt when you talk about and even start crying."
I feel bad for my dad, he's been through so much and he's lost some close friends.
"I understand." I said.
"I'll be there to help and protect you." My dad said. "So don't think you can whatever you want when we're out on the battle field because you'll end up getting hurt."
"Start packing." My dad said, getting up. I nodded as I went up stairs. When I entered my room, I saw Maria sitting on the bed.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked.
"Carlos don't leave." Maria said.
"What?" I asked.
"Please don't go back to England....I want to spend my Christmas with you." Maria said, as her voice cracked.
It hurt hearing that, I won't be here to spend my Christmas with my mum, sister and Maria. I wanted to give Maria a necklace. It had angel wings and it said, 'I Love You' on it.
"Baby." I said, hugging her.
She cried into my arms. Maria held on my tightly. "Please.."
"I'm already signed up, babe." I said.
"Carlos..I was so scared last time." Maria said.
"I know but I did it because I had to, my dad wouldn't be here." I said. "I promise I'll come back home."
Maria hugged me as she left a kiss on the side of my lips.
"I love you." Maria said.
"I love you too." I said, hugging and giving her a kiss.
~Zayn's POV~
Me and Carlos were driving to Liam's house. I always meet up with them before I actually leave. I could see my son was scared.
"Are you scared?" I asked.
"What?" Carlos asked.
"Are you scared?" I asked again.
Carlos looked down. "No..I'm just..I wanted to spend Christmas with Maria."
"Now you know how I feel." I said. "When I had to leave on holidays, it broke me. But you are allowed to call them. I used to do it all the time when you were a baby."
"So I could call Maria?" Carlos asked.
"Of course." I chuckled.
"Thanks dad." Carlos said.
Liam's house
I knocked on Liam's door. A little girl answered. "Hello Mr.Malik. My daddy is in the living room."
"Thank you, sweetheart." I smiled. Liam has 4 daughters. Renee, Laura, Olivia, and Melody. Melody is the youngest she's, 4. Renee is the middle child she's, 6. Laura is the other middle child, she's 5. And then Olivia is, 8. They are all nice and well mannered...unlike my kids..(just joking!)
"Zayn!" Danielle smiled. "Please come in."
Carlos and I thanked her as we walked in get house. Louis and Liam were sitting on the couch.
"Zayn, lad! Come and sit." Louis smiled.
"Hi, mate. You remember Carlos?" I asked.
"Wow, he's grown." Liam said. "I remember when he was a baby."
I patted my sons back. "Yes, I miss as a baby."
Carlos smiled at little.
"He'll be joining us." I said.
"Really? We have a new member, welcome." Louis smiled. "How are you?"
"I'm good." Carlos said.
"Girls yet?" Louis asked.
"Yeah." Carlos said.
"Oh that's great." Louis chuckled. "How's school?"
"It's....alright." Carlos said.
"Elizabeth got into a fight..(more like beating up the girl) me and Natalia have to find a other school for her to go to." I said.
"Sweet Elizabeth? Really? What happened?" Liam asked.
"My ex-girlfriend moved back here..she still had feelings for even when I told her I was taken. She beat up my girlfriend and Elizabeth beat her for it." Carlos said.
"Wow." Louis said. "I thought I had drama in high school.."
"Well I don't know what's going to happen when I get back to school."Carlos said. "I just hope that she won't be there after break."
"She probably won't, she beat up Maria so she was probably sent to a other school." I said. "
The whole night we talked about the war and how to keep up.
